Search Results: getting a girl to dance with me

There’s this one guy who seemed so interested in me and I also dropped hints that I liked him. But then a few days ago, i saw him at a dance and he kept getting near me and my friends told me he was looking at me when my back was turned. But then when it was time to slow dance, he danced with another girl (one of his friends who I know he has no feelings for) and kept turning his head to look at me. I really thought he would approach me and ask me to dance, but the entire night he just kept looking and dancing near me yet he didn’t ask me to dance. I don’t know what to think anymore and i think he is just playing me because he didn’t ask me to dance. What do you guys think?

Little embarrassing to admit, but I never actually went to a homecoming dance (my HS never had them). Now I'm in college, there's a homecoming dance in two weeks, and I'm absolutely ecstatic at the prospect of getting all dolled up for a night. I even have a dress in mind from a boutique back home that I'd consider getting for this (not gonna lie, it'd kinda be a make up of my prom night, since that didn't quite go as planned).

Problem is, I know it's the same sort of "unofficial" rule for homecoming as it is junior prom, that girls wear short dresses (I of course broke that rule, still had a blast). Would it be weird to wear a long dress to a homecoming dance?
