I just finished watching the documentary http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3686998/ , and I am wondering who started the battle of the sexes and how can we STOP this battle? I have been thinking about this for days and it is driving me nuts.

Men feel that they are just being "used" for money, and that all women want is money from them and that women are worthless gold diggers. The more men feel this way, the more men treat women this way. They think that women see them as worthless, and just using them. That women can't wait until they die so they can run off with their money. These men will soon divorce or dump women and go their own way.

Women think that men are just using women for sex, and to be able to have children for them. Then afterwards, take care of their children and clean their house, cook for them and buy their clothes/groceries for them. Women see themselves as useful but they need praise from the men for the things they have done, and since men don't praise them and just "expect" them to do these things as if it's their JOB and not the men's to help with the kids or the household chores, women start feeling neglected, and misunderstood and they feel men undervalue them. These women will soon make more than their men, and dump/divorce their men and go their own way.

what do you think men and women contribute or don't contribute and why? What are the reasons for the battle of the sexes and who is most to blame? Men or women? and how do we solve this to make peace?

The older I get, the more I become aware of the importance for women to have a job or a stable source of income to fall back on as a measure of precaution.

I think it’s a nice idea to be able of being a housewife that takes care of the kids and household, but realistically it’s becoming harder for women to find men who are worthy of such a commitment.

One of my best friend’s mother got abused by her husband and had to work as a maid in order to feed and clothe her daughters after she got a divorce.

And of course, not having your own money will mean that your pool of choice when it comes to a future partner becomes smaller, since in order to be a housewife, the husband needs to earn a good living because one salary is not enough. This would rule out a lot of men who can’t afford all the expenses of a household and kids alone.

So I want to be able to juggle between my career and my family ( I don’t want to jeopardize my children’s future by not being there).

Many of my female relatives are doing both, but I’m wondering how do you gag women deal with the situation.

How stressful is your life? If you could, would you give up your career in order to be fully taking care of the household?
