So a lot of my girlfriend's outfits, though they don't really show anything inappropriate (no boobs spilling out, no butt cheeks), it's still a lot of skin. She still very often shows her legs in shorts that cover her butt but offer no leg coverage, she often shows her stomach, she often shows her back, she often shows her feet, she often shows her shoulders, and she often shows a bit of cleavage (only a bit, but it's there).

And to the gym, she wears shorts of the same length, a sports bra, and a sheer shirt... the sheer shirt doesn't really cover anything, it's just so her bare skin and sweat doesn't get directly on the equipment. And she takes it off on the threadmill, or when she's just gonna be running around her neighborhood. And to the beach... she wears a regular bikini. It shows a bit of cleavage, but not a lot. And the bottoms are a bit cheeky, but not over the top.

Even her most modest outfits... a regular blouse, and long pants... the long blouse never completely covers her stomach. It shows a bit, and if she lifts her arms, her belly button shows.

And unless it's a professional occasion, my girlfriend doesn't modify the way she dresses around children or her elders. Like with her much younger relatives who are children, she just has fun with them and plays with them in her regular crop top and short shorts. And when meeting my parents, she dressed the same way, and was very respectful to them. Her attitude changes to be appropriate, but not her clothing.

We live somewhere hot, Orlando Florida... and I've always been rather prude. Plus, she doesn't actually ever do anything dirty. So maybe there's no problem in the first place. But I can't help but be curious. I've associated skin with being promiscuous, but it's not exactly true.

When I personally told her about it, she just laughed and said she never even thought about it. She said it was just the style she found the cutest and most comfy.

So one thing that most people seem to give no thought to, yet that really distracts me personally, is bare legs.

Bare arms I don't mind, but bare legs... maybe I'm just prude, but it just feels too revealing, and like too much skin is showing.

The arms are relatively small in comparison to the rest of your body... it's only like 10% of your body showing if you bare your arms completely in a sleeveless shirt.

But the legs. They're pretty big. If you bare your legs in really short shorts that just cover the butt but offer no leg coverage, then you're basically half naked, as the legs are about 50% of your body, and the torso is about 50% of your body. Especially if you have really long legs, and your legs become more like 60% of your body, and it becomes even more revealing.

Now some leg I don't mind, but when your clothing goes above your knee, then it bothers me.

Above the knee should be allowed only at the beach... and as for speedos and bikini bottoms? They should never be allowed. They're way too immodest, as they look like underwear.

Of course, this is all my opinion... but that's my take on the topic. I think people have become a bit too lenient and overly comfortable with bodies.

So your partner can change you in many ways... but what we're talking about here in specific, is the way you dress.

My girlfriend sure did change the way I dress... in the way that's option 3 on the poll.

So before, basically, I used to be a bit too prude and conservative. I wouldn't ever wear shorts even if it was 100 degrees out and I was gonna spend a lot of time outside, I wouldn't take my shirt off at the beach, etc.

And be aware, this is in Orlando, fuckin', Florida... the literal Sunshine State. Even in the summer!

And my girlfriend didn't say anything the first couple of times, but one day she said, "Sweetie, I know that a more modest style is more-so your thing, and I totally respect you for it... but I imagine that long pants and a shirt on at the beach when in a Florida summer is just so damn uncomfortable! I certainly could never do it. I don't like to force you to do anything, but please try wearing shorts, or taking your shirt off at the beach at least once, and see if you like it. There's nothing wrong with showing your legs or taking your shirt off at the appropriate setting."

And so I did just as she said... and boy, I've never felt better!


Actually dressing cool for when it was hot out and we were gonna spend a lot of time out just felt so free and relaxing! And sorry if this is too much information, but it felt nice to actually hug my girlfriend in her bikini, and actually feel her skin against mine, rather than just feeling her on my shirt. And rubbing my bare knees against hers feels nice, too.

I still retained my more modest long sleeve and long pants style, for most of the time... but when we're actually gonna spend time outside, it's only shorts from now on! And at the beach, shirts are a no-go for me! Much more comfortable!

So though most people don't give a shit what others wear, the person that is in the minority and dresses different than the majority will obviously attract the most attention...

But is it worst when you're the person showing the most skin, or when you're the person dressed the most modest/conservative...

I feel like shit when either one happens...

If everyone else is wearing long pants, and I'm the only one wearing shorts, I sort of feel naked and exposed, since I'm the only person showing this much leg. I try to pull my shorts down to disguise it a bit, but all my shorts are a great deal above my knees, so it doesn't work. I also wax my legs, which is really uncommon among-st guys... makes my legs extra "unique" and "noticeable."

If everyone else is wearing shorts above the knee, and I'm the only one wearing long pants, I then feel way too clothed, and like I'm coming off as an old fashioned prude. Everyone else is just dressed comfortable, but I'm so stuck to my old conservative standards that I can't even show a bit of skin when it's hot... what a shame.

I honestly can't decide which one feels worse, lol. I hate feeling naked and exposed... but I also hate it just as much to feel like an old fashioned prude... I just can't decide, lol.

I imagine if I was a girl showing more skin than the majority would be worse, since then I'd probably be receiving all kinds of labels... but since I'm a guy, I don't really have to worry about it. Not saying it's fair, but at least in US culture, it's true. Show skin as a guy, no one bats any eye... show skin as a girl, "slut", "whore", "attention-seeker", "desperate", "thot", "promiscuous", "show some modesty woman!", etc.
