To be honest, this is personal, I kinda like a guy friend and we're pretty close, but he's 2 years younger.. and thing is I'm not looking to date right now. I'd be willing to wait for anything until we're both older, more mature, done with school... etc. He's really mature for his age (I know sounds cliché) and only hangs out with my older friend group. I know him pretty well, but I can't help but think that the age gap is kinda awkward.. especially since I'm the girl... but maybe that's just me, cause otherwise there's nothing else pushing me away from him specifically. So I'm curious for myself but also just in general. Feel free to comment too! :)

We were very good friends for few years. He had a lot of issues but I tried to stand by him. For as long as I know him he has the same girlfriend. On and off.
We are very close coworkers as well.
Couple of years back he told me he likes me and wants to explore that. I told him i like him too but not willing to explore it as he had a lot of issues on his plate he needs to deal with it first (girlfriend much?).

Fast forward couple years: we ended up in a romance. While he still had girlfriend. It was intense. Pure. Amazing.
After 8 months I felt like my needs are not met. We both craved each other presence but we met privately only when he wanted too. For few short hours. Nothing more. He always left.
I love him. He said he loves me too.

But I want more. He says he cannot give me more. He wants to explore his own needs. On his own.

All I see is him choosing her over me. Therefore I decided it is time to leave. Let him go. No matter how much I love him, he clearly said he is not willing for a commited relationship with me in foreseable future.

Did I make a mistake? Should I have waited more?

I have made a post about something similar but i wanna see what you guys think.
I have been talking to this guy for a little over a month , we have things in common, although there were a couple hiccups in the beginning we worked them through. We both like each other and we would either video call every other day or send snap videos.. we now made it a thing to video call every weekend and when we do its between 1-3 hours. He calls this a relationship.

We haven't met yet due to the pandemic and he said he's willing to wait and that he's in this for the long haul/prize at the end. He would say things like : i want you, need you, i really like you, compliments me a lot. Asks me questions. He seems to be willing to talk about things and be mature about things. He said he feels the L word but wants to hold back from saying it.. he told me right now its a lust feeling and he knows its too soon to say it. We're both not talking to anyone and just talking/interested in each other

How long are you willing to wait for the right person? If you’re still waiting?

5 years here and counting...
I’m guarded until the right person comes.. so I’m in defense mode. Important qualities are : Loyalty, compatibility, romance , passion, and faithfulness

I have been talking to this guy for almost a month, in the beginning we had some misunderstandings and he was pushy to meet but we talked about everything and its all good. He is younger than me and hasn't properly had a relationship before in person. he's a very sexual person.

He would say some things like:
I want you
I need you
I have a yearning for you
I'm excited to meet you
He would compliment me a lot
He asks me questions about myself especially about this one male friend of mine.
He said he wants sex with me but he also wants everything that comes with a relationship. He has been saying that he is thinking about wanting to have babies with me.
He would say things like he wants to hug, cuddle, comfort me etc.
He would ask about how i was feeling after a situation i was going through. He seems really excited to meet and see me, he said that he's willing to wait for me and that im worth it. We would talk about the future together, thinking about possibly being the one for each other. He usually would want to meet someone right away but he calmed down a bit and told me he's willing to wait etc.
