I attend a private high school with a small senior class: in it is my crush and I. He's a very friendly guy. Everyone likes him, especially girls so its not easy to figure out who he likes. His best friend [a girl] has liked him for quite a while now and she recently admitted that she has feelings for him. I heard that they went out but quickly broke up. But they're still best friends. I know I can never compete with her and I'll never have the courage to tell him how i feel. Im starting to think he doesn't like her though.

He subtly asked for my number last year when i first joined. He leans in when i talk to him. His body image mirrors mine. He looks straight into my eyes. He seems like he cares.
His other best friend [a guy] attempted to get closer to me.
He recently started talking to my best friend more often
He constantly asks me questions about myself
He nicknamed me many many times
He takes his time to respond to texts but always does
He talks to me in a lower voice.
He always makes a funny face when he sees me
When he's talking to others around me, he seems louder than usual. He's a complicated person and I've tried to get closer to him but he's a brick wall.

I can never really tell if he's into me or if he just considers me a friend. Am I reading into this too much?

I feel that my boyfriends friends will always come before me. I have tried to bring this up to him but it only gets back fired on me and I end up apologizing saying I was over-reacting.

The problem is, that things keep happening that show me that I was right. Now whenever I try to bring it up, he makes comments about how he's heard it all before and I keep bringing up the same problems that aren't real.

on three different occasions, two of his friends have completely insulted and disrespected me and he didn't defend me. The first time it happened he insisted I must have done something to piss his friend off. Eventually I convinced him to stand up for me and he said he did. but i later found out that all he did was joke about the situation with his friend and told him not to worry about it. It happened again, but this case he was present and knew i didn't do anything to deserve it. After I asked, he told his friend he would appreciate it if we got along. the third time i was called an extremely vulgar name that had me running out of the room crying. He stayed in the room joking around with his friend.

besides for those instances, I feel that he only makes plans with me when he has nothing else to do. When I ask if I can see him I always get "maybes" because he's waiting to see what his friends are doing. when it comes to going out, he wants to always go out with them. He tells me he misses me but tells me he can't see me cuz he has to study... on multiple occasions, he didn't study but went out with his friends.

I understand he needs guy time. but he gets plenty of it. he LIVES with all these guys and goes out with them lots. but I feel like he has more fun with them than me.. and I have to compete. How do I tell him this without him thinking i'm controlling.. am I being controlling? he really admires his friends

My friend recently introduced me to a guy at her church. He seems really lovely, kind, and easy going.
The first time we met, I saw him looking at me from afar, then he came and shook my hand, as my friend introduced us.
Then the next time I came to the church, my friend wasn't able to go, so went with my sister and brother inlaw instead. After church, he came right up to us after the service finished, and we spoke briefly, then he ended up talking to my brother inlaw for about half an hour.
I wasn't able to go last week, and I am aware that he went on two camps for kids inbetween now and then.
We ended up going just this past Sunday night again (my sister etc). I noticed the guy was there, but he was sitting next to some girl. Then after the service, he didn't come up to talk this time. He was talking with his friends, and the girl he was sitting with was still standing next to him, the whole time.
I felt kind of gutted over it, and like a bit of a loser, I felt disappointed.
My brother in-law went and joined the conversation, so I kind of had to follow him, as I didn't know anyone at the church.
Then my sister joined too, and started talking to the girl. Soon, my sister introduced me to the girl, and we spoke briefly, Then they kind of carried on their conversation. After that, the guy and I started to talk for a little while.
Then the girl interrupted our conversation, and said to him "I'm going to go and get my bag, do you want me to get your jacket?" And he agreed to this.
Then we all left after that. I turned to wave, and say bye to them both, he was friendly and waved, but she wasn't very friendly, and avoided eye contact with me.
I feel upset, I know I clearly don't know him very well. But he seemed interested to begin with. And nice normal guys in my general age group are becoming really rare. I really liked him.
I'm not competitive at all by nature. Should I compete and fight for him? (Which is what I usually do) or just give up?

There is this guy I have met from an art group, and we are "friends" except I have always felt like he is creepy.

At first, he was welcoming. He asked me out right off the bat, I said no, not interested, but let's be friends (he is older). The problem is that he started calling/texting me frequently and acting like we were real friends (eg he'd keep a phone call going for 2-3 hours, ignore my hints to end the call, and act sad when I'd have to hang up). It started to piss me off. Then the inappropriate texts started, calling me sexy and hot/sweet. I tried to just ignore him but he'd get all worried like I was dead in a ditch somewhere, like he's my boyfriend. So, I told him he's making me uncomfortable. He apologized, said he didn't know. I reiterated I only want to be friends. He was like, yes, me too, don't leave the group because of this.

Then Xmas/bday/etc happened, and he gives me gifts. And starts sending me unsolicited books. Which, I'm grateful but feel guilty (I never gave him stuff) and suspicious. He also mails one book to me, and it wierds me out (I think I texted him my address for a car pool once, but I'm surprised he kept it safe). He also makes a point of always hugging me goodbye. And he always wards other guys in the group from me or competes with them and acts mopey when I talk to someone else.

Lately, I've stopped going to the art group, but he has continued to communicate via texts and wants to talk on the phone every two weeks. I have talked to him on the phone, and he pesters me to come back. He writes longgg emails to me with condescending advice and he attempts to influence my career decisions, which I don't appreciate. His word choice is CREEPY too.

I feel like I've ignored red flags, but each flag is debatable. He has been supportive, but has a made up idea of who I am. What should I do? How do I politely make him go away? I want to block his number but maybe I should tell him? But his persistence worries me.
