I'm so confused right now. I have so many people telling me this and that about this guy. My close friend who is friends with him says he's super shy and keeps trying to get me to go see him (I met him and we talked a bit but haven't seen him in a while) he's got this big presentation at work and I'm not sure it would be wise to go see it/him.

We have flirted, him physically flirting and all but he never actually said he liked me. I thought he was attracted to me and always a gentleman around me, even nervous and stuttering but... nothing.

He's always been nice, polite etc with me...

I found out from another friend whose husband knows him that he likes supermodel looks and worries about having a girl/wife who might get fat etc...

Which seems very much like a jerk to me. Insults my friends. I'm not supermodel myself. I am petite and small waistline but not tall and not busty.

But I caught him looking at me when we are in same room/building and he's never said that to me...

He also get depression sometimes. One of my friends whose married and older says maybe his shyness coupled with his age (over 33) makes him say that to keep people off his back...

So many different accounts including what I have seen and heard from him. I don't want to be mean for no reason but I'm not sure who to believe or if it's somewhere in the middle or what to do. If I go and he truly doesn't care that would make him think I'm a creepy stalker who docent know when to give up...
Any insight?

Okay, I've always thought I was terrible at flirting. I was talking with my boss the other night about the guy I like (my boss is only 3 years older than me, and we work retail. He's more of a friend to me than anything.) And he was asking if I'd tried to make any moves on the guy, and I was like "Yeah, all the time." And then I told him how I flirted, and he laughed and was like "I like your style." But I don't know if he was joking or not.
I'm SUPER blunt and obvious. I ran up to the guy I liked, and was like "HEY! -his name- I have a question!" I ran over and asked if he had a pet. Mind you this was totally random, and he was actually walking past and had passed me when I called out to him then ran over. He said no, and I was like "Oh, you seem like a cat person." We talked a minute and he left. The next day, I ran over to him and did the same thing, only this time I went "Are you right handed or left handed?" and we talked VERY briefly because a customer walked over. But he seemed like he wanted to keep talking. Another day he'd gotten his hair cut, I ran over and was like "You got rid of all your hair!" because he'd gotten it shaved, and he goes "yeah it was just getting kinda long and I'm pretty low maintenance" and I was like "Oh, we'll you're as handsome as ever!" He blushed and kinda looked at the ground for a second then was like "Oh, thank you" and then I ran away. The other day I asked him another question, this time his age while we were walking around his department (I think I was skipping a little... I don't know, I just have a lot of energy.) and he made me play a guessing game that made him laugh, then when I had to leave because my break was over, even though then we were with another of my friends because he works with the guy I like, I looked right at my crush and went "Oh I have to leave! I hope I see you later!" and then ran away.
Is this annoying, or a good way to flirt? I'm almost certain he knows I like him, but he seems amused by me at least.

I'm not good at flirting. When I go out with friends I tend to hang out with them and have fun (that's why I go out in the first place), but it's been too long since someone approached me. I'm average height/weight and I've been told that I'm cute, so I know it's not about physical appearance. My style is casual chic, which is what most girls dress like in places I go to, so I'm not over- or under-dressed

I occasionally see someone staring at me, but I have (nearly) always assumed that I look terrible, that my makeup is messed up or something like that, I almost never assumed that someone is interested, but recently I've talked to my friend and he said that a longer stare always means someone is at least interested or they find you cute. I'm curious, what do you think?

Also, some advice about flirting would be useful, I'm shy around people I don't know, I don't know how to seem more approachable?
