We've been broken up for over two months, which really isn't that long of a time. We have talked a little bit, but we live in a smaller part of the city so it's not hard to run into eachother. He ended things becuase I admitted I had cheated a couple weeks before. At this point of our relationship, we were bound to break up soon because of the amout of lying going on behind my back. So I guess you could say he was unfaithful too, although I told him the ugly truth knowing he could make the decision to leave me. I knew honesty was more important. We had been best friends for about 5 years including the time that we dated and we have decided to not throw away our friendship we had becuase it was so great even before we dated. Ofcorse this will take time. I just don't know if I can go back to being just friends with someone who I was so incredibly in love with and reciprocated the feelings of love, although we had our problems. Our love shined so bright you could see it all across our home town even before we were together and everyone could see it. I feel like having this time apart could be a good way for us to start over with a clean slate now that we have already skipped the getting to know you parts of a relationship. My question is... do you think it's a good idea to re kindle the spark we had as lovers or keep it to a comfortatble friendship? And any suggestions on what I should do or how I should handle the situation knowing I would get back with him in a heartbeat?

I have been with my ex for over four years, we broke up two years ago and remained lovers. I mean we still continueds sleeping together every night, in the same bed continuing on like we didn't split. He began sleeping with females, and I had to accept it and it was hard. I hated that he started dating so fast. Meanwhile still got me on the side. At a point i didn't care because I was willing to fight for my family. I have two cgildren and he has be and actuve father figure since they were 3 and six months old. My children are 5&7 now. My family was great, but our trust and financial hardships split us up. He has had teins with one of gis flings nd it took me a year. to live with the thought i was depressed for so long. How could some women he barly even knows, slept wuth with twice, have his babies before me? His first children are with a stranger. I have been fughting for him for two years now and he comes and gos and play this hard ball victim game. And i wind up feeling everything that happened with us is all my fault? I have been talking to him about becoming one again, he daid yes when i stopped talking to him for a few months, but nothing changed. So i decided to go back on tbe market for a friend nothing serious because its been four years and i have only been. with my ex. Iam ready to date now, i gound a friend and i like him but i dont want anything serious or nothing. But as soon as my ex heard. i was dating someone he comes throwing a fit, tslning about he wants me back. I love this man i love his heart, his brain, his scent, everything. This man is my back bone and he loves me but he is so prideful and for once. I feel like he needs to fight for me. So what should i do? Should i allow him back? How do i know he will not switch up again?

So my guy friend whom I met 4 years ago and dated for 3 months, got in contact with me on Facebook late last year to apologize to me for not treating me better (he was not commitment ready, I was). He had moved to Texas about a year and a half ago to be closer to his adult son. He got married (not his son's mom) last November. Since his first contact with me, he has periodically messaged me on Facebook. Last night he messaged me saying he tried to text me but didn't think he had the right number.
The last time we saw each other was two years ago. He proceeded to reminisce about our time together when we dated. He also said he's planing a "solo trip" back to California in the Fall, where I also live. I asked him if he was truly happy, his response was "Yes, I think everyone wonders sometimes about how things might have been under different circumstances, don't you?"
I have a feeling he's not being completely honest about how he feels. If I was "truly happy" in a relationship, I certainly wouldn't be reaching out to a former lover reminiscing about our times together.
What could he be going through?
