Search Results: too close or too distant

So I have this girl that’s one of my close friends we do flirt quite a lot but she’s 7 years older than me so we both said the age thing is too much and made it clear that we’re just friends which is cool with me. Anyway in the past she told me that I’m her first ever real guy friend, I asked why is that? She said that all the guys she was ever friends with made the move on her or got girlfriends and they stop them from seeing her. Which she said was really hurtful. I said if I ever got a girlfriend that told me to drop my friends I wouldn’t let it happen. But she said it’s different aswell when your guy friend gets a girlfriend that she wouldn’t feel comfortable going on our mate dates or texting me all the time like we do. I told her not to be silly but I’ve started dating someone and told my friend about. I was a bit nervous to tell her but she was really supportive and said that she’s happy for me.

However she’s being really distant with me. In college she’s not joking around with me as much or texting me. She’s told me secrets she’s never told anyone and I’ve done the same so i have that trust in her that I don’t have with anyone else and feels shit to think she’s pushing me away as her friend. Has this ever happened to anyone and what do I do?

Hello guys! I hope that u're all fine

I have always thought that there must be an optimal frequency in which partners meet and spend time with each other. If a couple in a romantic relationship tend to spend really less time during the week, then there is a risk that they cannot keep track of what's going on in each other's life and feel distant in terms of emotions. On the other hand, when met too frequently, they are prone to lose intimacy and attraction to each other as well as not knowing the value of their company. This can lead to some other problems such as arguments.

I have recently lived a very close relationship with my girlfriend, and we have been even living almost in the same house for the last couple of months, and I'm feeling that this has had lots of problems between us in terms of not satisfying each other's expectations and arguing over very small things. Although unwantedly, I have been sometimes blaming her and talking to her angrily and she has been expecting things that sometimes really gets out of the circle of my attention. This has led to lots of conflicts (although very small ones) between me and her. We love each other and we kinda tried to manage that by communicating with each other every time, but I still wonder why all these has happened and sometimes I feel like they won't stop.

Thus, I decided to make a poll like this. I ask you guys/girls how often you spend time together during the week and whether you think you are ok or not ok about this. At least this can help us understand how everyone lives their life with their partners.
