So I've been seeing a lot of this lately, particularly in terms of how one should/shouldn't date, and honestly I thought we had dispensed with this kind of nonsense ages ago. The idea that one needs to have preference for their own "race" because if not, you are somehow shitting on your ancestors and have no pride in your race. I find that in the 21st century, this kind of thinking really should be abandoned. Personally, I don't have much of what is called racial pride. I'm not proud to be black, because i don't take pride in things that I had no hand in doing, or things that took no effort on anyones part to really accomplish.

I replace the term racial pride, with racial acceptance/appreciation. I accept myself being black, and I have an appreciation for the fact I am black and for others who look different, as it doesn't change my opinion about them one way or another. But when it comes to dating, I don't really feel obligated to have a preference for black women, like at all. I don't really have a preference for any race actually, as I tend to judge what comes my way on an individual basis. But I don't feel like I'm obligated to go out of my way to give women from my "racial group" a chance. If I like you, that's different.. but if I end up with someone who doesn't look like me whatsoever, that's within my right, whether it offends you or not.

I do believe that people have the right to have a preference for whoever they want, whenever they want and as exclusive as they want when it comes to who they date/marry. If they want to exclude a whole group of people from their possible dating pool, that's on them, and that's their right. Any consequences of that would be on them, but they aren't necessarily racists/self-haters for it. You like what you like.

The concept of racial pride only perpetuates the idea that there are multiple races to begin with imo, which isn't scientifically accurate. Feel free to comment and answer the poll

I have never really understood women, and most interactions and attempts to flirt with women have just resulted in major dissapointment.

Here is a list of rejections I just thought of on the top of my head

1. Back in middle school (Danielle) I had a crush who ended up avoiding me
2. I asked a girl out my freshman year of high school (Sydney), rejected
3. I asked another girl out (Sarah), already seeing someone
4. Asked another girl out, she laughed at me.
5. Had a crush on this Mormon girl, asked her out multiple times, got declined each time. Ended giving her a love letter, never showed interest
6. Asked a girl out freshman in college, already seeing someone
7. "Dated" my friend for 10 days, did not last long
8. Just asked a girl out online, never responded.

There are more I can add, but cannot think of right at this moment

There is this girl I met a few years ago, and we dated. Nothing happened at that time, as I was just out of a long relationship, and after a big argument, we stopped talking for two years. She appeared out of the blue one and a half month ago, asking me out. We went out, and since then, excepting a few days, she contacts me every day, asking me to meet. She even kept daily contact when I left the country for one month.

Lately, it happened for her to call me and ask if I want to spend time with her multiple times a day, after we have already seen each other in the same day. Also, it happened a few times to tell her that I can't meet her on that day, and that we'll go out the next day, and she made sure to call next day early in the morning to make sure I can make plans with her.

I can't really say we get intimate, we make a lot of body contact, and she usually sits really close to me, sometimes leaning on me, but that is about all. When we rarely go out with other people, she almost always makes lots of body contact with me. She sometimes seems to get jealous, acting totally different and rude when I deal with other women.

I don't understand what is happening, it doesn't look like things are advancing, even if I try to. I also considered being in the friendzone, but from my experience, friendzoned people aren't contacted daily, even multiple times a day. Her wanting to spend more and more time with me, wanting to meet multiple times a day, also rises a question mark. Jealousy also makes things more strange.
People seeing us together and the way we act are sure we are in a relationship.

The only thing that sounded like a rejection is that she told me she is lately interested in older guys, like 30yo, she being 20. I am 21, and a bit in love with her.

It is hard to explain everything in such a limited space, but I hope you guys can understand what I mean. Please tell me what you think, and give me some advice.
