So for example, you have a plan to both move together where they can get an an ok job temporarily till something better & you have a scholarship to a good school… Instead they ask you to move somewhere where they have a really good job and in five years they can support you in school and they promise to see it as balanced contribution, rather than that they are “paying for you”. Obviously you can do long distance so the point is they want you to stay with them instead, tho it temporarily puts you at a disadvantage.

(This is only meant to be a crude example so don’t get bogged down in the details. The main point is one person puts things off and the otter supports them until they are in a better position, bc of having put things off.😊)

Personally, I don’t know if I’d mind putting things off. I just Would have concerns over the imbalance of power we’d have in our lives. Not that they would necessarily hold it against me, but it’s exist and I wouldn’t like feeling dependent. So I don't know. I mean I think some people feel like if the trust and respect is there, it shouldn’t be a problem… but I say we never really know how things will affect us and it’s a lot to hinge on an agreement. People change.

Im starting back in 2020 a guy at my school saw me at cafeteria and asked me for my number however he asked me to write down my number in a letter because he left his cell phone to his bag I wrote down the number he never texted me. I thought he was an interesting guy. Covid happened we all went back home so I didn’t really bother why he never messaged me. This semester I was at cafeteria again but with my friend who also knows him, he said hi talk to me a little gave me his phone to enter in my number. He messaged me a Week Later.. but very shortly mostly asking about a class. He changed his mind to give me a book he promised. And that was it. We basically messaged a day only. When he said I am not giving the book I said that’s ok I understand he replied “ you are so sweet”. Well pretty much that’s all. He has never messaged me since then it’s been a week again. He is kinda younger than me maybe 4 years younger so I was wondering maybe that’s why he isn’t really interested in me.. I look young I’m told a lot even my voice is very soft maybe he didn’t knew.. at first!
What do your guys think was the poor guy just trying to be friendly? He is not a shy guy I know that he is not waiting for me to message first.
