There are 5 different love languages. And people receive and feel love in different ways. I'll explain the poll options below for better understanding.

For example, you feel love through receiving gifts but your SO feels that that's a waste of money and s/he thinks that s/he shows you love through giving u quality time and affirming you from time to time. Will you:

Poll Option 1: Break up because y'all are just not compatible and if u continue being with him/her, you might never be able to feel love through your love language - receiving gifts.

Poll Option 2: Ask your SO to try to show you more love by giving you gifts aka trying to change your SO

Poll Option 3: Accept your SO as who s/he is because we shouldn't try to change each other in a relationship. Try to understand that he/she uses another love language to show love and care. Though, if you choose this option, it means you'll never ever be able to receive gifts.

Today, my mother prepared food and dad ate the meal, I complimented my mom's cooking as it was very good but dad didn't say anything. Later, when I asked my mom why dad didn't say anything, she said "Most husbands are like that. They never compliment their wives, they never buy them gifts, they never celebrate wives' birthdays, not even on special occasions like Valentine's Day, etc."

I said, "But, I often hear that a boyfriend gave his girlfriend a gift, they go out with their girlfriends, etc."

"That happens only before marriage, after marriage, it is gone and what left is a rock-like husband who has no feelings!"

"Really? But, even in TV shows, I have noticed husbands giving gifts to their wives, taking out them for dinner..."

"What TV shows show is not real. Most husbands are rock-like."

"Dad never compliments you?"

"Never, he never does that. If his dish is all clean without any substances, that means he liked the food but if there's still some food left, it means the meal wasn't good. Of course, not all husbands are like that. 2 out of 10 husbands are truly affectionate and loving towards their wives, others are rock-like and don't care about wives much. If you need confirmation, go ask the neighbors around."

So, I was wondering, is this really true? Husbands are rock-like without any feelings after marriage?
