First, I have nothing against dress codes at private institutions that no one is forced to go to or attend. That is their choice to have them, and should, when and where appropriate.

I'm just wondering if in this case there is a double standard. Here's my point. Hear me out please.

If you are a female student at "Boylan Catholic High School", the following is what you "CAN NOT" wear...

And it doesn't stop there, here's more...

OK, fine and dandy so far since this is a "Private School" and should be allowed to have their own rules.

But to me here is where the "Double Standard" comes in. Here are the guys dress code rules...

They show a guy allowed to wear "Hot Pink" accents. Pink has always been considered to be a feminine color by a large percentage of the population. We can argue all day as to whether it should be, or not, but that doesn't change the fact that pink on guys can, and will, bring on a more feminized connotation by many more than almost any other color. I personally don't have anything against guys wearing pink, so don't take me wrong.. but that doesn't change my point of how it is perceived by some others.

Here is my point, and my question... why can guys come to the prom in, what many consider, feminized attire and girls can not attend in even slightly sexy dress?

Why am I thinking that the Catholic "men" leaders, who are in charge of these catholic institutions and are still to this day molesting catholic boys, making these decisions?

Am I just a conspiracy buff, imagining things again?

What do you think about the whole dress code of Boylan in general?

So right now I’m in a relationship with a guy who is 18 and I am 17. I think this guy is a really sweet guy but there are certain things that he does that are kinda disappointing to me. And Ik I realize it’s not my job to judge him nor do I have the right judge him. But these are somethings that he did that kinda make me feel a type of way. So one of the things he did was for prom he didn’t wanna dress up for prom. Which I kinda understood because he said that he was only gonna wear the suit once and that it was too much money. But I told him that I could pay but he still declined. On prom day, I gave him my address to him and he came over. My dad saw that he came without a suit and was disappointed. Because he was wearing like a plaid blue/shirt, some jeans, and tennis. Then later he told me that his parents were disappointed that he didn’t wanna wear a suit to prom. I politely confronted him about it by saying I just wanted us to look nice for prom. But then I realize I was being selfish ig because I should understand. Another thing that’s a problem is that he can’t drive and doesn’t have a car so embarrassingly my dad had to drive us to prom. Originally he wanted us to meet up, I guess he was just gonna take uber/or lyft and for me to get my own ride. For prom we did go out to eat though and he paid for me, but we were really late for prom because the waitress was taking forever to come back with the check. Someone who I used to be friends with told me that prom would suck and to not go. He also said that it was a waste of money.. which he wasn’t wrong about that. but I don’t wanna sound ungrateful.. at least I got the experience. My dad tells me that later on I will regret my decision and wish I had dumped him along time ago and that also makes me sad. The person in my family that supports my relationship is my little sister and some of my friends. It really bothers me about this and makes me wanna cry tbh. Ik I sound a crybaby.

A mutual friend low-key propositioned our friend groups, group chat with the prospect of doing a ball (prom) swap with this friend of hers.
I took her up on it.

We started meeting up for dancing practises once a week.
He paid for me one time, But then i paid for him the next time to balance the books because I ain't no gold digger.
He went away for two weeks a while afterwards for a school trip.
Came back with a necklace for me.. (No price was mentioned so I had no idea how to balance the books)

After my prom i invited him around for lunch.
After his prom he invited me out to the movies.
We went out skating with my friends and held hands because my friends told us to.
We have hugged twice. (I instiggatted both times)

So does he like me?

There’s this girl that used to work with my boyfriend. She’s like 19/20/21 years old. My boyfriend just turned 18 and I am 17. She is in the same grade as his sister and I remember having a few classes with her when I was a freshmen. She worked with him from January until beginning of May when she got fired. I had another friend that worked there and said they flirted with each other all the time. They were close at work. Of course my boyfriend lied and denied any of it. There was some big Easter basket present thing bought buy my boyfriend supposedly and she had his number and he said he never gave her his number and he didn’t buy her that. My boyfriend never texted her but somehow she had his number. He also got several prank calls by various numbers that stopped after she got fired. My boyfriend said he hasn’t talked to this girl since May, so he says. However her Instagram profile has a very well done photoshopped picture of the two together or maybe they took it I don't know. Her profile is now private. He said she’s crazy and that never happened. I think she still talks about him to this day. I recently went on vacation with him and it was great. I went to prom with him and again no problems. I work at this grocery store and saw the girl with her mother today - she looked away and walked faster when she saw me. I then, ran into her again, and I looked away and she pretended like she didn’t see me. I wanted to say something to her but I don't know. Other coworkers say her and her mom frequently come in to buy stuff - if I see her again should I say something to her and what should I say? I love my boyfriend but I feel like he’s lying to me sometimes and he also never posts pictures of us on his social media, I post it on mine and he says he doesn’t want people knowing our business. We are both going to college in the fall and he’s going far away out of state and I’m staying in the state. I don’t know what to make of this.
