Everybody knows that I am up-front about things that might cause confrontation. I'm not one to sugarcoat things. This sometimes gets me into A LOT of trouble lol, but I prefer to be honest and people know that if they ask or approach me about something that they should be ready to take it because I'm not gonna cover it up or "try to make them happy" by what I say. At the same time, this is a GOOD thing because they'll ask me before they'll ask anybody else. I like having the honest reputation instead of being one to suck up to people.
I am also one to stand up for myself, so if it causes confrontation then
1) They shouldn't have asked me if you didn't want my opinion or the truth (whether they asked a factual question or for an opinion matters).
2) I'm not gonna suck up to anyone.

So overall, I don't suck up to people. Regardless of how much confrontation comes with it, I'm not afraid of it and I'm not going to lie to prevent it. If somebody thinks they won't like what I say, then they probably shouldn't ask me to begin with.

On the flip side of that coin, I wouldn't want anybody lying to me either, or sucking up to me. The whole point in me asking them is to get the truth, or I wouldn't be asking. If they are one who lies to keep peace, I'll get that they are dishonest and won't associate with them anymore.

I also think a lot of people don't realize that honesty, in the long run, keeps down confrontation.

I admit giving my brother's fiancee a hard time. She used to cry. I acted like a bully towards her. There was a time my brother took my name off their wedding invitation. Then I got reinvited in Nov thanks to her (she convinced my brother to include me) that wanted me on the list again.

Many things have happened since. Their wedding is being postponed due to the pandemia. We can't even visit them. I really (honestly from my heart) wish them both the best. I'm not sure if I should say something to her. I've changed and I think she can see that even if I didn't say sorry. I'm looking forward to improving things. Hopefully we can become good friends one day.

Here is the issue though: I'm not really someone that likes admitting defeat. I've always had trouble with that. I'm embarrassed. That's hard to do. I've always been a very proud, outspoken, strong-willed woman till the end. The opposite of this would be to humble down. That's not my usual character. Be honest do you think it's HARD to admit being wrong, apologizing or asking for forgiveness?

For the majority of my life I have never had many male friends. The first male friend I ever really made (in middle school) also happened to be gay. Throughout high school however, I have befriended about two straight guys who I don’t speak to in person. We can easily talk over the phone, but once we are face to face it is super awkward. All of the other guys I’m friends with and interact with irl on a day to day basis happen to be gay, except one (who I thought was gay, until he started hitting on me and I found out he wasn’t). Even the other day, out of every person in the room, I befriended a gay guy. Trust me I LOVE my friends, but lately I’ve been asking myself why I subconsciously always stray towards befriending guys who I think are potentially gay. Maybe straight guys make me uneasy? I really want to branch out and break out of my shell, but I don’t know how. ☹️🥺
