Long story short: he started this. It's ridiculous because we broke up a whole year ago nearly. He went in a huff and wouldn't speak to me for months.

Recently, we did get talking. Our chatting turned into mild flirting, which then turned into more sexual flirting. Which turned into photos being exchanged and a rather sexual hug.

Now, I asked him at this point if he was flirting with anyone else, because, obviously, if he was... I didn't want to be flirting with him in any manner. He got angry and insisted no.

So yeah, time went on, we had a little misunderstanding and the flirting stopped and we agreed on being friends.

My birthday just passed and he wished me a nice day. Just round about this time, I'd found what looked like evidence he had indeed been flirting with another girl around about the time we had been getting close again. His birthday approached, I wished him happy birthday, but let him know I hadn't felt like it. This of course set off another argument.

He ended up telling me he didn't want to talk again and was raging with me. He told me I was vindictive and nasty. But then he'd change his mind and say I was nice, that he'd always care (that was after he said he didn't care) and then he said he could be nice to me after saying all he said.

I explained why id acted up and told him I knew about the flirting. He didn't deny it, although he said he couldn't remember flirting with anyone else when we were and told me he was considering giving us a second chance at that point. He stopped arguing at this point, he apologised... and we then hugged and left each other.

I honestly don't even know what to believe to honest. Help? What does he want?

First scenario: you just recently got the girl you've been chasing for years, you've screwed up all your previous chances by flirting and being inappropriate with other girls and lying. But, your friend who is a weak person is talking to a girl outside of his relationship and your friend is telling you he doesn't want this girl and she isn't stopping with pursuing him. So, you decide one night while drinking with your friend to prove this girl is no good. So you harass her and promise to put her through college since you're in the military and you swear you could give her more than your friend ever could and you will also be there when and if she changes her mind.

Keep in mind you do this all while your girlfriend is at work and has no idea. 3 months pass by, and you're about to ship out to basic... and the day before you leave your girlfriend finds those messages and is heart broken... when she's about to leave you, you break down and beg her not to go. You know she cares about you and can't stand to see you suffer so you talk about how you don't want to join the military or anything without her.

Second scenario: your heart has been broken repeatedly by the guy who claims to have been in love with you for years, everyone is convinced he's mad for you and acts like you should forgive him no matter what... and you're tired of playing the victim to him and having him always completely disregard your feelings and the relationship you shared... you retaliate while he's in basic and kiss another guy. It was literally a sit down, think about it, and decided to do it anyways. To make matters worse you decided to kiss your ex knowing quite well that it would hurt your boyfriend just a bit more. You've full on disregarded your relationship at this point and you're about to end it and tell your boyfriend everything.
