So, It's Valentine's Day, You're Ugly And Nobody Loves You.

Now, you probably clicked on this myTake for one of two reasons: you've come here to chastise me for using such a mean statement as my headline, or you actually believe that about yourself. Now, now protector-of-all-things-vulnerable, calm down. For the second group of people, it's time to take a hard look in the mirror at ourselves, myself included. I am you, you are me. Sitting alone, eating as much as we can, hoping the cholesterol will fill the hole in our hearts. For this look in the mirror, we must be as objective as possible. Take everything you think of yourself, deficiencies and even what you kinda like about yourself and forget about it. When we look at the cold hard facts this is what we realize:

1. We aren't very different from the average person.

"Well thanks for that Captain Obvious". But when you look at how you view yourself compared to even the average person, why do you think you're so subpar? What makes you worse than someone else? is it a perecived flaw that you have? Who told you that you don't measure up? Chances are, you've convinced yourself that there is something wrong with you. And when you act like there is something wrong with you, others are going to reciprocate that and act like there is something wrong with you.

2. The concept of physical "Attractiveness" is an illusion.

So, It's Valentine's Day, you're ugly and nobody loves you.

Bare with me here, this seems like a total reach, I realize that as I type this, but this concept is displayed every day. Go to any art gallery, you'll find pieces of art that you find to be absolutely stunning, and you'll find some to be utterly repulsive, but someone thought that the piece that was repulsive to you was just as deserving as the "beautiful" piece.

The point that I'm making is, if you're reading this, go you! you've got eyes to see this with, a brain to understand with, fingers to type with, a heart to beat, you are a human being, just as well equipped as any, fully capable and fully deserving of being loved and receiving love in return. So hey, maybe this year you're alone, but you're with yourself. And you're pretty fucking awesome.

So, It's Valentine's Day, You're Ugly And Nobody Loves You.
