Is the “man cold” real, or do guys play it up when they’re sick?

You know the stereotype of a "Man Cold." I like taking care of guys when sick though. Do guys do this on purpose? Do girls play along with this just because our stereotype is more nurturing.

My wife knows, I get sick, I go down usually and rest. Unless it's some easy bug. I don't like to be bugged, just checked on and if really bad flu or virus, get me some drinks and soup and such. Otherwise, lay around.

Then... back into high action again...

Women in the house... go go go... doesn't matter if sick or not.

I do see the brain not working as well, in both. Makes more errors, sometimes more touchy.

Oddly, I had some of my best sports days... when sick. my focus was better.

Best I can describe... if child birth is a 10, the man flu is like an 8.5. But you're right, back rubs and chicken noodle can bring it down to around a 4

It impossible to know, but it seems to be real. Women seem to recover quicker in general from the flu and colds.

Yeah I'm a big baby when I'm puking and shitting my guts out or can't breathe from coughing so much. Last time I was sick I was puking so hard I burst blood vessels in my eyes.

If I just have the common cold, you'd probably never know, because like most people (men included) I suck it up.

Women who make fun of the "man flu" are just proving that perhaps women aren't the more empathetic gender after all.
