Maybe this is petty but if someone treats me poorly and makes me feel bad, I remove them from social media. If we were good friends and things take a turn for the worst, I stop talking to them. There were two instances when I talked to guys briefly through an app. While I was interested in meeting up with them, it never happened. One guy turned me off being nonchalant and the other confused me. I removed them from social media but they are still following me. They view most of my Instagram stories and like my photos (rarely). I guess some guys don’t care about social media to that extent. If we aren’t cool anymore, I will remove you from social media.

Me: While I understand where you're coming from, every guy that has told me that line ended up wanting a hook up/ wasn't sure about what they want so I'm wary of that

Him: I don't do hookups. That's too weird for me. I know what I want. The purpose of dating is to find someone I will spend my life with. Someone who will laugh at my dad jokes 😝. Someone who will treat me with as much respect I give you. I'm 27 and in my eyes I'm looking to find my wife. I had my party stage in life. I'm too old for that 😂😂.

Me: If you want a "wife" why would you have to take it slow? It should just go with the vibes. I've had enough shitty experiences on this app I'm not going to invest in another one that will waste my time.

Him: Because I've rushed the past few relationships and it's turned out poorly. I mean it's not like it'll be turtle speed. Hell, me moving slow is still fast for some people.

Me: Look, I've had a share of poor experiences too and this is why I've written off dating to some degree. I keep the app up because I don't really have another way to meet people, as a way of keeping my options open. Your statement was a flashback to what took place previously w/ someone else and I ended up stop talking to him. So at this point, I'm indifferent and don't really have anything else to say.

I had a friend from class who used to be pretty snobby - when I did well in school - she was super nice to me - and when I did poorly - she would treat me like trash. In the end she tried to be my friend cause I was getting higher grades than her but I rejected her friendship. Anyway - I did a search of her online a few months ago and I discovered she had been admitted to the graduate program at Yale. I did a search of the students in her facebook group at Yale and they all look like white, thin, young, beautiful, runway models. At Harvard - there is more diversity - a lot of ugly people and average looking people get admitted to Harvard because Harvard cares more about intelligence than they do about looks. I know a PhD Harvard graduate who is only around 5'1. I know a Harvard Graduate student who has a heavy Indian accent and has the same English mannerisms as a taxi driver and isn't out going or versatile in society - And if you look at how average looking Mark, Priscilla and Bill are - you can see Harvard doesn't care too much about looks.
