Something I've seen become more popular is single women who have yet to find 'Mr. Right', but want to have kids, have the financial means to do so and don't want to wait, will get pregnant via a sperm donor and become a single mom on their own. Usually, this is done by older women (35+) concerned about their continued fertility, but I've seen more and more articles about younger women, in their twenties, doing this. From what I can tell, it's not that they don't want a partner, they simply just don't want to wait until they find the perfect person to settle down with. It got me thinking, what are guys' opinions on this? Would you date someone who has become a single mother by choice? Would you see it as 'Whoo! No baby daddy to make things complicated!' or 'She's totally crazy!'?

Which gender is more complicated? Men or women?

When I was 18, I lived in Ohio. I had a fling with a guy. I loved him. The first man I truly loved. On the 4th of July 2004, we were at the fireworks when he asked to have sex in the woods. I said no. I felt guilty because he was a virgin, I was not, and I had a strong feeling I would be forced to leave the country. I ended up opting to go back and my heart broke because I loved him and felt like he did too. We kept in touch and are still friends to this day. He came out as gay to me a couple years ago. He said he figured it out shortly after I left, but hid it from everyone and I was the one he was most afraid to tell because he still loved me. And through the years, I’ve loved him too. Not in a romantic way, but I cherish him.

I admitted I regretted not having sex with him that night and come to find out, I knew that he got married to a woman after me, but he didn’t love her. And that aside from her, I’m the only other woman he finds attractive.

We planned a drunk karaoke night the next time I visit. I’m hoping within the next year, but this is where it gets complicated.

I told him that despite my regret, I won’t be sleeping with him when I visit. I have a friends with benefits that I’m very attracted to of almost 2 years. And my kids know and like him too. But there’s still a part of me that wants to have sex, just once, to make up for my regret. But at the same time, I love R. In the same way I loved L. More than L could have at 17, but my kids tell him they love him too. So even though we’re only FWBs, I feel like I would be cheating on him. We both said that while we see where this goes, we’re okay with the other seeing other people, but that neither of us are like that.

R knows about L. I’ve even told him I still have a love for L. R is the same about his first girlfriend. 9 years together and he let her get away.

So what would you say and why?

I work with this guy who is only a week older than me. We are both 23. I have always wanted to date him, but we were both always in a relationship with other people. I have a son now and split with my son's dad a few months back. He split with his ex around the same time. We are both kind of going through a mess with the relationships, but we talk to each other every day about what is going on. 2 weeks ago he called and asked me to go out for drinks. We spent a few hours bar hopping and then we went to this spot you can see all of down town at. We started talking. He asked what my plans were and I told him I am trying to buy a house and go back to school to finish my master's degree. He tells me "oh my gosh. You are a complete woman. You have it all together. I am really impressed" and then he asked if I had liked him. I told him yes and he says :"Why didn't you tell me sooner? I really like you." So I kissed him. We kissed for quite some time and then went home. We had to go get a car out of town for work and he asked me to go with him. We kissed a lot on the 3 hour trip there and back. We did the same thing 3 times that week for work. I asked him out to dinner and he said he had to help pack up his parents house then we could go out. Around 8:30 we met at the romantic spot again. He told me he really cares about me He kissed me again. we ended up hooking up. I told him I liked him and would love to see where things go and he gave me a hug and said I wish things weren't so complicated right now. went on into we can't fall in love with each other you have the custody thing going on, I have the court stuff with my ex and now money troubles trying to help my parents. Fireworks then started going off behind us and he kissed me and goes maybe that's a sign. He then got a phone call from his aunt asking his to pick his cousin up from the bar. We left went home. One minute he is all interested and into me and the next he seems scared or not interested. I am so confused.
