A new user posted a question that says that she is in love but having dreams that her boyfriend is cheating on her. After reading her post, I suspected that this was a reflection of her personal insecurity so I asked about that very directly. She replied: "I honestly don't think I'm good enough for him. He's perfect and I'm far from it. He's so amazing and kind. And I'm scared that he will find someone better."

We all know ourselves so very well and it is very easy to catalog our fears, weaknesses, flaws, blemishes, etc. We also know our partners but not nearly as well as we know ourselves, and. . . we focus more on their great qualities: kindness, compassion, intelligence, patience, etc. So when we them compare ourselves to our SO, we ALWAYS lose that competition. It's not that we are a bad person or that our SO is a saint; we simply know more about our own shortcomings.

I remember having this insecurity when I was younger but the years and my experiences have made me a stronger and more realistic person. Fortunately, I really can't remember the last time that I felt that way, but. . . I'll bet many of us walk around with that fear inside of ourselves, thinking that we are different from everyone else (almost as if we are an alien living among the humans) and wondering how anyone could ever want to spend their time with us.

Bernie Sanders, despite hitting the presidential scene at a time when the country was leaning more conservative, was able to raise massive audiences to his cause and many were saying his ad campaign was the very best of the 2016 election. The south voted against him in his race with hillary clinton and by all estimations would have done so even more strongly if he were to have ran against Trump. Still, he gave a lot of people who wanted change (especially young people) a lot of hope and belief that he cared...

Barack Obama, it's been a long time since his initial historic race to the presidency as the first black man to do so successfully. Back then, his main claim to fame was that he spoke so well... his speeches were legendary and were the main source for getting new followers. He didn't have the track record to back it up and he didn't have the talking points that everyone agreed with but he proved that the way you say something can count for everything. Many were, perhaps derisively, comparing him to great speakers like Lenin, for his ability to make a more socialist message sound kind of sexy

Donald Trump, revolutionized politics by talking like just an average guy with the same fears and insecurities as anyone else. He barely if ever rehearsed for things. He didn't censor anything and although he said a lot of arrogant things never seemed to run the race as if he thought he had a realistic chance of winning. Yet, even when that crazy sexist video came out he was able to deflect it by saying "well hillary stuck with bill clinton and he slept with an intern while president." Say what you will, but the reality star became a rock star of politics and i'm not sure political discourse will ever be the same
