Growing up, my father was very neglectful and cold, and whenever he did decide to pay attention to me, he would terrorize me. When my mother would go to work and left me at home with him, I was never fed, bathed, or shown affection. If I tried to get him to notice me, he would scream at me to “Go away!” or “Leave me alone!” I would tell my mother all the time what he would do, and she never did anything about it and still stayed with him, no matter what. Mind you, I was 4-6 years old when I had to endure this bullshit. At an age I couldn’t take care of my own needs. Also, this is all just a small portion of what he did.

As I got older into my teenage years from the age of 9, things have changed, but he kept his neglectful ways. My mother was still with him, and she would always say “I know he doesn’t show it, but he does love you.” She just didn’t want to leave because, yet again, she was dependent. I will admit that I had a terrible attitude, but it was mostly because I hated my family. I still do. I hated the fact that I had to fucking deal with a father who didn’t give one single shit about me or well-being, and a passive aggressive mother who let him do whatever he pleased. He would drink beer every fucking day, and whenever he got drunk, he acted like an intolerable, blunt asshole who would mock and make fun of me for everything. I was sick and fucking tired of it. Seriously.

Okay, GAG, what do you think that I should do?

A single father just moved in 3 months ago. He lives only a couple blocks away from my house.

He has a 4 year-old son and a 2 year-old daughter. The child's mother literally walked out of their lives to go off with another man. She doesn't care and even told him he can have them. So she abandoned them, voluntarily gave up her rights and he has full custody now.

Are those so called ''mothers'' rare? To go through the difficult process of giving birth, only to them abandon them with the father without a care. Are women like that lady rare?

Long ago my mother made a complete fiasco in my relationship. She acted like a bully towards my boyfriend and I felt powerless to stop her. She tarnished his image to my father and others; accomodating things to her own distorted version, demonizing him. She went out of her way to trash him to every single close family members.

Too much has happened and at times I have nightmares about it. Her terrible words ''I have to separate you from him any manner'' or ''I hate his guts, I'll just pretend if he ever comes to marry you, I hate him'', ''He's using you'' and other things keeps repeating in my mind over and over.

It affected part of my self-esteem. I'm kind of sensitive. I can't deal with drama nor animosity. I can't ever fall in love with anyone else as a result and I'm childless. We would've had a family by now already. I'm scared of the same thing happening if I were involved with another man. I don't even trust my own judgement. I don't even know how to handle a relationship either.
