A little bit of back story. I planned on joining the U. S. Army after high school and get into real estate after my service, but things happened with my mental health which lead me to drop out of high school and lock myself away in my room for the past couple of years. It kills me that I fell so far off track.

Recently I've decided that it's better to regret being late than regret not doing it at all, so I'm turning my life around. I'm 22 now and just got my first ever job at Lowe's working part-time. I'm not planning to move out of my parents soon (I'll get to that), instead I want to put most of my money into fixing my parent's house which just turned 100 years old.

I'm planning on joining the army in 2 years (at 24). I'm giving myself 2 years to prepare myself by losing weight, getting into the best shape of my life, learning about what I'm going to do in the army, and getting my GED. I've already joined an MMA gym and I'm getting my driver's license in June.

While serving in the Army I want to take real estate classes, investment classes, and get a real estate license. I'll maybe invest in real estate while in the Army if I have the opportunity, but I'm sure that I'll invest my money into something.

After my service, I want to be a full-time investor investing mainly in real estate, and hopefully have my own real estate company one day.

This is just the plan I've come up with. It could change. It really depends on what happens when the time comes.

We live in an era where the majority of people making the average income can't even afford a basic living standard. The cost of living just goes up and wages stay the same. I remember when I was a kid people said that it takes 2 to afford a living but not it seems like it costs even more. My mother works a full time job, my step dad is on disability which most gets taken from child support, and I'm working a part time job while taking online real estate and business classes. My step brothers still live with us but they go to school (age 16 and 18). I live with my parents at 24 but my money helps support the house. I buy most of the groceries and buy all the household essentials (toilet paper, dish soap, garbage bags, etc.), I offered to help with utilities and rent but my mother didn't let me. This works out because before then we would have to sacrifice one thing for another, no toilet paper for a week, using bath soap as dish soap, ramen noodles 3 square meals a day, now we can have at least somewhat a decent living. I might move out when I get work in real estate and my step brothers move out to college (if they even go to college) so my mother wouldn't have anymore mouths to feed other than her and her husband's.

I had no luck finding a job before and was living off my mom's allowance when I was younger. After beating myself up about it at 21 I decided go full savage and decided not to care and do what I want to do and build the career I want. So I saved up my allowance and with $1000 in a Robinhood account and my mother's support I built my income up to the point that I can get off my mom's allowance and be a contributer to the household. It took me a while but I climbed the ladder one rung at a time, I became legally self employed at 22. I saved up my earnings and built up my credit score to a perfect 850 and got a mortgage on what I called a pile of shit with potential. The house I got was 3200 sq ft 4 bed 2 bath listed at $35k, it was pretty run down, pipes were out of date, wiring was a fire hazard, floors, walls and ceiling was torn apart and nasty, the yard was dead and ugly and the outside paint was worn off and the entire kitchen and bathrooms needed to be replaced appliance and all. Since I was buying a cheap house and was able to make a good down payment with my credit score I was able to get a renovation loan along with my mortgage, so I ended up paying almost $20k in down payment not including furnishing. The house is finished and I've been living in it for a week now and I'm very proud of it. I payed my mom back for her allowances with generous interest, she tried to decline but I made her take it.
Is it a bad thing that I haven't gone through the same hardships as most people did? I only work about 15 hours a week in day trading and never struggled with rent. I'm thinking about getting my real estate license so I can start investing in that market. I also do some non profits on my free time. Do people think that I had it "easy" and don't understand the hardships of life, which I do just that my hardships are different.

Do you support taking money from working class people and giving it to rich people?
The governments have been implementing "Quantitative Easing" (QE) for nearly a decade in order to bail out the banking system. Before that, in the USA, theve done other bailouts when there was systemic risks.

QE is simply put... creating money and passing it out somewhere. It inflates the price of assets... which in general, rich people own. Stocks, bonds, real estate, cars. Rich people own stuff, so they get the $ and they aren't taxed on that until they sell it. People who hold cash or don't hold much cash lose out because the cost of everything goes up... rent, food, fuel, etc..

If governments did not QE, the price of the stock market and other assets would drop precipitously and rich people... assumably if they did not move out of the way fast enough,... would lose a lot of wealth. There would be consequences for everyone as the system re-balanced.

Both Dems and Republicans have supported welfare for the rich. Do you?
