My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year
A little background info:
Last year on end of July, when we first met, he told me that he is still friends with his ex girlfriend (they were together for 3 or 4 months)
He broke up with his ex around end of June
So they remained friends until August
He said they had a fight about something and he also mentioned she kept talking shit about me
When they were friends, he told her about me and how we are going on dates
And he said she probably got jealous because she kept saying that I was probably dating other guys and thats why he stopped talking to me for a while
But then they got into an argument so they cut off contact for good
And then we started talking again around September last year and then we started going out together more often and became official
Thing is, few nights ago, he mentioned that "girls and guys cannot be friends"
And then i said "but you and your ex were friends?"
And he said "yeah for a month. Look at how it end up? She was talking too much shit so I ended it"
What does this even mean?
doesn't this mean they both still had feelings for each other when they became friends after their break up?
Which means he still had feelings for her when we first met and going on dates?
Why would they argue if theyre just friends? Is that possible?
Im confused
I know its the past but I wanted to know what this means...

So me and my boyfriend always talk on the phone every night and sometimes we argue about little things.. big things..
Then today, we got into an argument again
This was our conversation:
Him - so are we still going to watch movie with your friend and her boyfriend this week?
Me - yeah i think so
Him - i haven't seen him for a while. I wanna wear a tight shirt so he can see that I've been training hard and gotten bigger than before
Me - why u showing off for?
Him - what? Why do u think im training hard nowadays? I want to show everyone my body. To boost my confidence. Oh and one more thing, dont ever tell me what to wear again. You did that last time and it pissed me off. Dont control me.
Me - how am i controlling you? I only asked why u wearing better clothes when people we know are coming with us and u dont dress up when only us are going out
Him - coz we have been together for over a year. I dressed up in the beginning of our relationship and now we are used to each other. And i dont wanna look like a homeless person infront of your friends and other people we know. I dont want to embarrass you infront of them. Dont u get it?
Me - i just thought that you wanted to impress my friends and not me
Him - its not about impressing.. its different. And dont ever make me feel insecure around you again. Because if i feel insecure around you, i dont wanna be with you anymore. You can't control me and tell me what to wear, how to look. I wanna do my own thing. Let me do my own thing. If i was to pick gym or you, i would pick gym. I would pick my body obviously. Thats how it is.
Me - so im your last priority? You put your hobby infront of me
Him - its not a hobby.. its a passion. I love the gym. You can't make me quit it. Im not saying you're my last priority or putting it infront of you. Im just telling you its my passion
Should i be hurt and upset by this?
I was offended and hurt
I started crying and then he started to soften up abit
Does this mean he doesn't care about me?

Would you ever fake break up with your partner just to teach them a lesson?
For example, if your partner has been kind of mistreating you (ignoring msgs/calls, blaming you for little things, hanging up the phone during arguments, starting drama over little things, etc)
Fake break up as in telling them:
- you want to break up
- you're going to delete them from social media
- you lost feelings for them
- you dont want relationship/commitment anymore
But deep in your heart, you still care/love them
And after for few hours, you call them up to meet to talk in person and tell them how you really feel:
- you still love them
- you still wanna be with them
- you are still attached to them
My boyfriend did this to me. He "fake break up" with me.
We have been together for over a year by the way
And we got together again and he added me back on all social media too :/
Would you guys do this?
