For the purposes of this poll, "making the first move" means approaching someone in person and asking them out. Trying to look pretty, or kool, or give off vibes so they might ask you out definitely doesn't count. Sending a friend, relative, or homing pigeon in your stead also doesn't count. You have to have a personal interaction and actually risk rejection. Have you ever done that?
I keep reading on this site that the world has totally changed. Women everywhere are constantly risking rejection and making the first move. I suspect more than a touch of hyperbole. So let's find out!

Far the last 2 weeks an adult in my team has been sulking, barely saying hello and goodbye but I have kept greeting him not to stoop to his standards.
My manager spoke with him, asked him was everything OK and he said yes. She said that he said goodbye to her yesterday and opened communication with her today.
However with me, I sent team email to him and other girl, no reply. I also was about to wish him a nice weekend and noticed he had gone. The last day or two I noticed him taking loo breaks around the time I do.
My concern is everything is not OK with him mentally. I don't want to approach him like my manager did as if he says everything is fine and acts normal again then it justifies his behaviour in his head and gives him control, that each time he behaves like this he will get away with it.
My manager will be off on vacation for 2 weeks, my thoughts are keep doing what I am doing as I can't let him have what he wants a confrontation or for me to justify by offering olive branch. He has acted moody before
I think best is too keep doing what I am doing and when my manager comes back say he still isn't talking and then she will see he lied to her. Been honest I think even if he does make amends next week, I might just keep my distance

Be honest, because I know that now that I'm recovering from an eating disorder I'm gonna become much less attractive and I've been fat before (hopefully I never get nearly that bad again but with the way I eat I'm scared) my mom always says "personality matters a lot" but my close female friends always talk about dudes bodies whether it be guys with their abs and such or guys who "have such a great personality but need to lose some weight" or "have potential if they fixed their acne" or "are so sweet but so ugly" and I myself have a hard time approaching girls as it is but once I become ugly it'll be even harder and I'm afraid of being alone forever because although I've messed around some now while I was attractive now that I'm recovering and ugly I'll never have that again and probably never find love in the future
