Firstly, I know that my cat is unusual in his own little way! He’s a friendly giant chappy to his family but a total knob to other cats and a timid little baby with strangers.

But I’ve had lots of people comment that his relationship with me is odd for a cat.

He’s the first pet I’ve ever had so although I’ve known other animals I thought it was a normal pet/owner bond. Like... he comes to me for comfort, he sleeps in my bed most nights, he looks after me when I’m ill (visa versa), he will literally act catty to friends and boyfriends (he loved my ex until we broke up and then he got so protective he almost hissed at him), if I’m stressed or fatigued he wraps his paw around my finger, if I’m in trouble (like I’ve collapsed) and he finds me he alerts my family. When I worked, he learnt my work schedule and would wait outside for me to come home (he would leave about 10mins before I was due home and wait outside the front door for me).

Cats have a rep for being aloof bastards but the majority I have met have been lovely so I thought this was just cat motherhood!

In my childhood, I distinctly remember how I desperately wanted to just live in one home and STAY. We moved around well over 30 times (that's just about when I stopped counting) and we've been homeless a few times too.

The idea of a steady home was always appealing. So when I moved out of my parents home (they've moved roughly 13 times in the 5 years since I left), I was pretty much dead sent on just renting for a year or two then settling down and purchasing a home to stay and live in until I died.

However this has proven to be difficult. After the first year I moved to another apartment with my boyfriend, and at the time I thought it was just because of my roommate (she was fine, but I wasn't fond of her friends. They were the partying type and I'm more the "i gotta work in the morning" type)

However it seems that matter where I've gone since then, I start to get restless. I find random things wrong just to be mad about, and I almost feel trapped and caged. Then I move and it's like a weight is lifted for a minute, but after a year or so I'm STILL growing discontent with whatever house or apartment we have.
It's now made me scared to try to buy a home simply because I'll probably be bored and discontent within so long, but be stuck with it
Foes anyone else have this problem?
