I’ve began noticing a trend. Mentally, little girls and women in their teens and early 20’s aren’t all that different. Except older women usually have some kind of trauma by the age of 20 that if anything changes them a tiny bit.

I find this a little fascinating. I have a big family and at a time was a psychology major and worked in a child development center and actively paid attention to the psychological development of the kids in the center as my job.

It was a fascinating thing to do. And I still sometimes find myself curious and observing people in daily life as I go about my day — people watching, and being observant.

Has this been your experience as well? It’s almost as if most college girls end up with a ‘wtf world?’ Expression and demeanor sometime around the beginning of their twenties. And definitely by their 30’s where I think real maturity happens.

Anyway. Since I had the chance to ask on this site I wondered whether that was true or not in your opinion.

Ever do or say something so thoughtful you shocked the other person and it changed the relationship?:)

From my life:
I roomed with my brother in college. He always had cereal/milk for breakfast. I loaded the dishwasher that morning. I'd often be a knucklehead and not think about anyone else and run everything. But today, I left 1 bowl and 1 spoon out that morning and left the last of the cereal for him, rather than eating it myself with enough milk! He got up for school and came in as I was heading out and figured he'd been screwed over and let out a sign of grief that he wouldn't have breakfast. When he saw that I had thought about him and did what was...perfect in consideration of him, his expression did a 180!

That little gesture dug deep through preconceived notions of who I was and it changed his view of me.

Since that day, our relationship changed. He had previously been emotionally abusive and demeaning. After, he started saying positive things to other people when he'd previously always would cut me down in front of them! It took years for me to accept positive words from him or anyone, it didn't match the broken record recorded inside!

I learned many years later that I am sensitive to words and empathic and it altered my life in so many ways. No that I've healed, it's like the butterfly coming out of the cocoon!

You can punch a hole through that stuff and get to the heart of the person and change their life with words and deeds if you try!

Words are like swords! They can cut deep. They can also extract a poison arrow from the heart!

So what could you do today, or what could you say that would strike another person in a way they never dreamed of? Go ahead and do it and see what happens?

This is a question for guys too, not just girls.

The example pictures and just there because usually a girl is required to dress more modestly when living with her parents, and when she moves out... she can just wear whatever she wants (with obviously the exception of work and such), so there are no real restrictions.

As a guy, I don't think I'd had this problem that much...

But I live in Florida, and at a certain phase as a teen, I decided to not wear shorts anymore, as I had worn nothing but shorts previously and was reading for a change, and all the cool kids seemed to wear long pants.

And my dad would not fucking accept it. He FORCED me to wear nothing but shorts. So when I got out of college, I made it my goal to not wear shorts AT ALL.

Till I met my girlfriend...

And she likes to go out, jog, go to theme parks, walk all over the place... which in this Florida heat, can only be done in shorts. So I HAD to buy some.

So now, I wear jeans/pants indoor, but wear shorts outdoors when I'm with my girlfriend. I think it's a pretty good way to live. Plus, my girlfriend literally does the same thing.

And she likes it, too... she says she likes to compare her smooth shaved feminine legs to my super hairy rough masculine legs, lol. 😂😂😂
