I work with a married man and the way he’s been acting recently makes me uncomfortable. I’ve known him for almost 3 years, but only started working closely with him a few months ago. I always liked him as a person, so I’m confused. We’ve had these team building things lately and alcohol was involved. Basically I’ve had to go out to dinner with my coworkers every night this week. Last night it was okay. We were talking about his wife and kids, and he was telling me cool stories about them. Then tonight we were out to dinner and he overheard me talking about dating with another coworker and somehow the conversation shifted to just me and him and he was asking me all these in depth questions about whether or not I’m dating anyone, what kind of food I like, what I like to do.. then he would be like, “so would you date a guy that liked to do sports even though you don’t?” And stuff. And this went on and on throughout the night.

Is he flirting or does it sound like just friendliness?

I've had three married men flirt with me (I DIDN'T provoke them in any way, that would make me a horrible person).

When I was 14, our Maths teacher who was married and was 39, would flirt with me, his flirting didn't stop until I finished 3 years.

Next, TWO married men started flirting with me, one was 52, and the other was 47, they both were our Chemistry teachers.

All three didn't even try to hide that they're attracted to me, they would make it completely obvious. I couldn't protest because I am a really shy girl. They didn't cross the line though (they didn't lose control and touched me inappropriately). They would stare at me, praise me a bit too much, pick me to answer the questions even if my hand wasn't raised, help me all the time, always support me, etc.

Such things make me puke and make me doubt that men can be loyal...

I'm 19 now, and no one flirts with me now (thank god... )

- They had intentions of sending pictures because your S/O asked for pictures
- The woman/man they flirting with lives in another state
- The conversation happened a week ago and they stopped flirting but you S/O didn't tell you about this or expect you to see it
- They only did this with one stranger
- You know your S/O would break up with you over this but they don't want you to break up with them.
- They are old enough to know this was not only wrong but a calculated decision
- They boast about how they are loyal and expect you to be. And don't trust you, making you take pics when you are out because they want proof you aren't cheating. But here they are..
- They told you it's not a big deal and they made many different excuses, then eventually apologized

Personally, this is like a crack in a mirror. Weakens the integrity of the person, weakens loyalty, weakens trust. It's an opener for cheating. This is how it starts out. With just one person small flirting then it builds up over time with more people and pictures. This is a red flag. I understand if they want to break up because the S/O shoulda known better and don't have time for games. But I believe most people will say it depends or they will work it out since it's just the beginning.
