Is your culture so honest that you could put up a produce stand that is self checkout, and it would work.. e. g. people would be honest and pay appropriately for what they pick?

There is a market stand in my that has frozen free range chicken and meats, eggs, cheese, bread and vegetables. High quality, very convenient and reasonable price! People select what they want and self checkout using a computer and credit card.

This works in this culture because the people are honest, high integrity and will not steal. It would only take a few thieves to ruin this for the owners and everyone.

Note that it isn't marketed on the road, it is open for those who know about it.

The sub point to this is the recent chaos in society around Aubery shooting and George Floyd killing and many others. The root issues are honesty and integrity. Theft was the driving motivation in both scenarios, which is why people were angry or the police were called by way of police. If there was no theft, there wouldn't be a need for enforcement. There is no way around the fact that humans don't like to lose things or have their work stolen from them. Either they accept some people will "steal" and accept the loss as donations, or there has to be honesty and self sufficiency within the culture. This is the primary issue... having our work stolen. Government steals from all and so do people who are not producing sufficiently, as government gives to those who don't have.

Do you think a stand could be placed in the Minneapolis "no police zone" and it would be treated with respect and honor? No... then you are going to need enforcement with greater power than the thieves!

Lastly... would you like your culture to behave like this and how can we train others to behave better? Does it require parents and discipline... what kind?
