So, I am getting married this year and I would prefer a summer wedding but my mother for some reason really wants to see a winter wedding. She has this idea of an outside winter ceremony at are family vacation house. I like the idea the house is in the mountains and would have snowy peaks all around it is not what people normally do and my mom said she would pay for the whole thing if I did this (My parents are loaded so It’s a nice house). So, I like the idea, but I am worried about the cold for the guests as well as me and my bridesmaids in December it gets cold in the mountains.

I am going to tell my guests that winter layers and boots are recommended so the guests should be fine. But myself and my bridesmaids are a different story. Are top halves should be fine we will all have fur wraps and we can get the dresses made with fleece lining if we want. Our legs we are not sure about we think just some nice fleece lined leggings which should be fine. But our feet we have no idea there is no way any of us are wearing normal heals and even some dress boots with socks would be cold. I really do not want to be cold at my wedding. So, when the five of us were brain storming ideas the idea of Ugg Boots came up. I know Ugg’s to a wedding we were joking at first and laughed it off, but we kept coming back to the idea and it seemed less and less crazy.

We all live in our Ugg’s all winter so it would be what we normally wear. We started to play around with looks and we kept liked how they were looking. We think brand new (so they were nice and clean looking) tall ones would look good with the rest of what we had. For me my dress is long enough no one would really see so great. But for the other girls their dresses are not as long so they would be in full view. They will all be matching.

People will judge but am I crazy for feeling I should just do what will make me happy on this day and not care what other people think about it?

Like the birthday party of your friend's friend or the wedding of your friend's sibling, some big event where you'd usually dress up but here you don't even know the person who's hosting it.

I'm going with my mom to the wedding of one of her friend's son and those are people I've never shared a word with. I already went to the wedding of the daughter of that friend but I didn't do much with my hair, didn't put on a dress (just some fancy top, jeans and heels), didn't even wear makeup.
But I'm thinking it's still a big event and I should blend in by looking a little more put together. Also I never really dress up so that could be a good occasion for that but it feels weird I don't know.

Alright. So long story short, I lost about 55 lbs last year and have since maintained it by running a few times a week, hiking, and lifting daily.
While I have grown to accept and love my body, it is still new to me and at times I still feel like the fat girl I was. So I don't really trust my own judgement.
I don't really wear dresses. Ever. I've always been a tomboy. So the whole dress thing? Completely foreign to me. But I'm going wedding dress shopping this weekend and I need some help. I don't want this to end up being a huge blow to my newfound confidence because I set myself up for failure and try on a dress that's not suited to my shape.

What dress style do you think would best suit my body shape?

I was having this conversation with this guy on gag and he thinks it gross that women wear long dresses for their weddings, because they drag on the ground and it's "so unsanitary." I was trying to inform him that the dress dragging IS the appeal. Hence why almost every wedding dress has a train. I think he must have ocd or something. It's not like they don't clean the floor beforehand (unless it's on carpet.) Actually most of the time, even if it's outside they clean the floor unless it's on sand or grass. But even then in some cases they put down boards or rugs for the bride to walk down.

To be honest, in my opinion it's difficult to make a short wedding dress look stunning or really give you that WOW factor, because most come off as looking like a prom dress.

Anyways, what is your take on the matter? Which do you think looks better? Long or short wedding dresses?
