At my age, most girls have discovered make-up they know what it's all about, and they either wear it or they don't. I do not wear it as an everyday thing. If a special occasion came up, like a wedding or a party, I'd probably put a little on but I don't see myself at the moment wearing it in my day-to-day life, here's why:
1) I'd Rather Sleep

First and foremost, the effort. I've seen the beauty gurus on YouTube complain about how long it takes to apply, and I see them without make-up and they look good to me so I think to myself- 'if you see it as an extra hassle, then why wear it?' They talk as if wearing makeup absolutely compulsory- like wearing clothes is, but wearing makeup isn't!
Why would I spend so much time putting something on my face which I'm going to take off at the end of the day? If I spent that time sleeping it'd make me more productive for the day because I'd be less tired. If I spent that time studying it's not as if I'd have to erase that knowledge from my mind before bed.
You want to get rid of your dark circles? Ditch the concealer and sleep some more, and you won't have any.
Sleep > Makeupš
2) It's Harmful To My Skin

Imagine putting a bunch of chemicals on your face, leaving those chemicals on your face the whole day, then using more chemicals to remove the chemicals you put on your face in the morning. That's a lot of chemicals.
By doing that, you're stripping your skin of its natural oils.
That's likely to lead to dry skin, and acne. Then what do people do to cover up the acne? Apply more chemicals until they visit a doctor and the doctor tells them to stop because it's damaging their skin.
I use one thing to wash my face:
Water
I do get the occasional spots every now and then because I'm a teenager, and like it or not these things happen to teenagers- but if I just leave them alone and keep using water they'll go away themselves and won't come back for ages.
3) Natural > Makeup- In My Eyes

Natural is always better in my eyes. I see many girls striving for 'natural makeup' look, but that's a false kind of natural because it isn't.
Here's a bright idea: Instead of using all those products to give yourself the natural look why don't you put all the products away and actually give yourself the natural look by applying nothing? It works every time, trust me.
If you look after yourself, exercise, eat the right foods, get the correct amount of sleep, you won't need to 'cover up' anything. They don't call it 'beauty sleep' for nothing. ;)
Ending:
Just my personal views, please don't get offended. In no way, am I trying to insult girls who to wear makeup if that's what you feel makes you, you then, by all means, do so. But know you don't have to. You do have a choice.
Make sure you're wearing it for the right reasons, not to cover up your insecurities or imperfections because - this will sound cheesy and you might want to punch me - that's what makes you, you.
You might want to express your artsy side, or you might just find joy in applying it- I really don't know I don't wear it, but as long as you are comfortable with yourself, then there is no problem.
I hope you enjoyed this MyTake, have a nice day/afternoon/evening/night wherever you are, thank you for reading. :)
