After reading an old GAG question regarding race being both biological and a social construct, I decided ask this question for an interesting discussion.

I believe that while race is mostly biological, separating groups of humans by race are usually never very accurate because every country has their own completely different racial classification systems that mean something very different from other countries. For instance, in Latin America, If you look more predominantly White European (despite having a few obvious non-white features from non-white ancestries in you), then you are still classified as "White". Here in the US, that would never fly and that person would not be considered a truly "pure white" person by the US's social One-Drop Rule standards. Even Arabs in Latin America (especially in Mexico) are socially treated as "White"(with "White Privilege) while they get racially socially outcasted here in the US and not treated like "real whites" and end up losing that "White Privilege"(as much as I hate this term, you can't deny that there are some truths to this around the world), despite Arabs and Middle Eastern people being labeled as "White Caucasians" on the US Census.

I've also heard that in Australia, the Aboriginals are sometimes referred to as "black people" even though Australian Aboriginals have absolutely nothing culturally in common with Black Africans or Black African-Americans since here in the US, "Black" refers to African Americans and Black Africans. Also, even in many East Asian countries like China and Japan (both supposedly very racially homogenous countries) have several different ethnic groups of their own (that have always been completely overlooked and ignored).

I'm no racist or have anything against other ethnic groups but I do get annoyed of hearing from Latinos (especially Native-born Latin Americans) that we're a "diverse" culture when in reality, the vast majority of our culture was founded mostly on the indigenous culture with a lot of Mediterranean European (Spaniard/Portuguese/French) influence and some African influence. There are these outrageous Youtube videos of people trying to claim how Mexicans are "diverse" and can be of any race. While it is true that a Mexican can technically be of any race, we can't deny the fact that the vast majority of Mexicans are racially Mestizo and Amerindian, therefore a Mestizo nation. I'm willing to bet that the people who make these "Mexican diversity" videos are just butthurt pure white Mexicans who feel outcasted because they either don't have an ounce of Amerindian blood in them or have European immigrant parents who aren't even from Southern Europe.

I also get annoyed when many Latinos like to refer themselves as "pure whites"(denying their obvious non-white European ancestry) when in reality, they're more than likely mixed with at least a quarter or less of Non-White European ancestry when they would never be considered truly "pure whites" here in the US. I feel like Latinos in Latin America need to learn to deal with the fact that Latin America is a predominantly mixed, Amerindian and Mestizo region, especially by US racial standards since Latin America never uses the "One-Drop Rule". Not even Spaniards and Portuguese from Spain and Portugal would consider Latin America "White". These Latinos need to start taking off their Telenovela goggles and see the reality in my opinion since the Telenovela media (A Latino entertainment industry controlled by the very small population of pure white Latino elites) has apparently done a good job of brainwashing them.

I'm just wondering since I am a Latino who racially passes for white in both my parents' country of origin (Cuba) and here in the US. The way I see myself, I may be more racially "white" with a very small amount of Black African and Indigenous blood that may not be distinguishable enough in my facial phenotype but culturally/ethnically, I always see myself as Cuban or Latino. Unfortunately, because of so much hatred and social division in this world, I suffer racial prejudice by colored Latinos who tells me I'm not "brown" or "brown enough" for their ethnic group (and that I should check my "white privilege" and lose my "Latino card" for Affirmative Action because of it) and because I live in a state where hate crime is very high, there are a lot of Non-Latino whites who would at first accept me into their social circle until my ethnic background and name is given away, then get told that I'm not culturally "white European" enough to fit in since the Latin American culture isn't compatible with WASP, White American or White European culture, which is an outrageous reason for me to be socially outcasted.

If you think about it, MLK Jr has always preached to not judge people by race but in a peaceful, non-hateful and non-violent manner. He never preached violence or "getting even" with "all evil racist white folks". All he really wanted was peace and harmony between all races and ethnic groups, not further antagonize all white people due to just a few loud-mouthed racist morons.

In my perspective, if Blacks today want to continue to demand racism to end, they should focus on what MLK Jr taught and preached instead of how he got killed or all dark past of America. All what just focusing only on all the negative past regarding white and black Americans, does up to this day is just continue on with more intense racial tensions (between all races and ethnic groups) and more bad results and this isn't what Martin Luther King Jr died for.

We as all human beings need to be better than this.

and preferred to be called by their ethnic group term (Latino/Hispanic) or National origin (Mexican, Columbian, etc.)?

As a Latino person that is a light-skinned Mestizo (Spanish/European and Amerindian), I never get offended much by what people call me as long as it's something that I'm not. However, most Latinos I encountered, hate to be called "white" or "black"(racially), even Latinos that are racially white or black and can pass for either of those in the US and prefer to be called either just "Latino/Hispanic" or "Mexican"(depending if they're either born in Mexico or have parents that emigrated from there). Despite that nearly all Latinos have Spaniard/Portuguese/French ancestry, they still would rather call themselves Latinos than being called Europeans (except for maybe Argentina).

Even though there will always be racism everywhere around the world (including Latin America and even Africa), it seems like Latin America isn't anywhere near as much race-oriented of a culture as the United States is, or at least tries to.

One thing I know for sure is that a lot of Latinos hate is checking off race boxes for the US census since there's so limited options for Latinos that are more Mestizo or Mulatto. I wouldn't doubt that Middle Eastern/Arabs go through the same struggles in the US since they all have no choice but to probably check off as " Caucasian" and "White" because "Middle Eastern" or "Arab" is non-existent in the US census while the US census lumps North Africans into the same group as White/Caucasian.

A little off-topic on my last part but back to my main question.

I'd say it's a tie between Asian and Latina mothers. They both crack me up the most, lol.

Following Ethnicities:

Black Africans (though this would be an obvious pick, Hitler did however, treated 1936 Olympic Gold Medalist, Jesse Owens, decent comparted to former US President Franklin D. Roosevelt)

Latinos/Latin Americans (since the majority of them are racially mixed/Mestizo and Hitler hated race-mixing, it's obvious that Latinos definitely DON'T fall under being of Aryan Race, despite that nearly all Latinos have 50% or less, of European ancestry)

East Asians (aside from the Japanese since the Nazis allied with the Japanese)
