Still have no idea how to find people who won't shit on you or criticize your ideas or thought patterns.

I ask because for the last few days we've been working on monologues in my acting class and I just feel overwhelmed and outclassed by the other students work.

Everyone is just like this ☝ and I'm over here like this 👇

Everyone else's monologue is about deep philosophical stuff and I'm just not creative enough to produce that kind of work

And to make things worse I told my mom and she just said, "you must want to make shit films then" 😑.
Not every filmmaker has to question the fucking universe or some shit correct? I'm more interested in making lighthearted films or documentaries but according to everyone apparently I have to discuss morality or some shit in order to be considered a good film maker 😟

So people who have found a place where others actually understand you and want the best for you, how did you do it? As far as career I have never met someone who likes the same kind of movies I like and It hurts my creativity because I feel like I'm not good enough if I can't produce work on that level.
