Why does he talk to me when others aren’t around?

Ok so there is this guy I work with who says hi to me every day. I noticed he only talks to me when we are alone. It’s weird because he doesn’t say anything flirty or inappropriate. One day he finally came over and introduce himself and ask me what’s my name and told me about his position. It was just me and him no one else around. I noticed when someone comes over he walks away or just starts acting weird. If we’re alone he talks to me, if others are around he acts like he doesn’t know me but he’ll sit next to me or just smile at me. What’s going on?

Most likely he is simply and introvert. An introvert is physically/emotionally drained when interacting with others. While an extrovert is physically/emotionally charged. (I am personally very much and introvert). This does not mean that an introvert has no desire to interact or connect with others. In fact it can almost be considered the opposite. An introvert is a bit selective on who they spend energy on. And typically if an introvert speaks to someone, they are essentially deemed worth their time and energy. Either through simple respect or attraction.

He may not be good at flirting but it seems like he doesn't want others around if you were turn him down. A lot of guys won't approach someone they're interested in if they're with other people or their friends.
