I never personally have had any restrictions from my parents on any underwear that I wore, but I know some parents take this very seriously and do maintain restrictions on it. But to what age can you really control that? ... and should it be controlled?

For this discussion, thong underwear would include g-strings, t-strings, etc.

I included one picture with the thong panties showing because I know that is one of the arguments against them but I think that is very rare for that to ever happen. Is it a big deal if it does? Why do some parents consider them slutty?

For me it happens even if I wear a belt, and now it happened at a new workplace where a certain guy saw it a couple of times. He is now telling people that I did this on purpose to tease him and seduce him. It's incredibly frustrating since it's not true, but everyone seems to have believed it and they are making jokes behind my back, giving me bad vibes. I've started wearing higher waisted trousers and longer sweatshirts, but I feel this is ridiculous and I should not feel self conscious to such degree since it was not deliberate. I wonder how many other men think it's for their benefit
