Being single is becoming more and more common because relationships are not as stable as they used to be. A lot of people, especially young people, have some form of social media. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, even G@G, and even if they didn't, there's still the ever popular texting.

And we see today so many people, both male and female, wanting to go through one another' messages, questioning why they liked this status, why are you texting a person so often or left a compliment on another person's selfie. And sometimes it's cheating. Now, cheating isn't something new, but it's much easier to trace and discover when it's written down and easily accessed across the internet and in text messages. This would be the EXPOSING aspect.

But even if it's not cheating, it can interfere in a relationship. It can cause a partner to become paranoid or even a stalker on some level, especially if the accused isn't doing anything wrong and continues what they're doing. You know, the "Facebook Stalker"! Partners begin going through messages and questioning every bit of activity they see when they're spouse talks to the opposite gender on social media or through texting. This fear and paranoia of infidelity can cause a rift between the two parties and they may split. The distrust one party is feeling from the other may cause them to leave the relationship altogether. This would be the RUINING aspect.

I think everyone can agree that both happen. But, overall, is technology and social media more likely to EXPOSE a relationship for what it really is or ruin it?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 5 months now... we both have our photos up on facebook and the relationship status and he texts me everyday and tells me that he loves me and that I'm beautiful. We were meetin every other week in the beginning. The odd time every weekend. Now he got a new job in security and works overnight shifts but he has at least 3 days off each week. My concern is that we only meet once every 3 weeks now... is he slowing down with me? Or is it because it's holiday season? Is security like this year round?
He had also mentioned to me that he doesn't want his family to start complaining if we meet too often, and his mom doesn't allow sleepover and they wanna meet me first.

So is it his work? Is his overprotective mom not letting him meet so often? Is this just for now because of the holiday season? Or is security always like this?
