Search Results: should i still try to pursue her

I fell for her the last 6 weeks of school. During those last 6 weeks we text a bit and hung out once. Then she left all summer and got back yesturday. Should I try taking her out this week or just drop it. Last I text her was 3 weeks ago, and we text twice all summer. People say I am trying to hard and should just move and and meet new people. She is still in high school this year. By the way I am 18

I have known her for 4 months. I was never really interested in many girls in highschool until I met this girl the last 2 months of my senior year. She blew me away and I totally fell head over heals for her. Here is the problem. We aren't really that "close." She is very nice and always replies to my texts, which aren't often. Before school ended in May I asked her to go to a park with me. She apologetically told me she was busy. Then she made a grand gesture to invite me to a school event with her. That was one week before school ended and 2 weeks before she left for the summer. She acted strangely at school the week after we hung out. She made no eye contact when walking by me but I caught her staring a couple times when I wasn't looking. She also started walking past me and my group of friends more often. I tried saying hi to her on that last week of school and she just gave a weak wave. But the day school ended she liked my FB status. Then I tried texting her and she answered right away. We would text for a few hours. When she was gone all summer I only text her a couple of times. When she left 2 months ago I told myself I would call her and take her out when she got back. Well she is back today and I am second guessing. Some of my friends say just let it go, I am trying to hard with this light pursuit. I kind of agree. I will be in college in a couple of weeks and I will meet plenty more people. She will still be in highschool. Do you guys think I should move on or still try and pursue one of my few crushes in high school? by the way I am 18, not 28

So this might be a bit of a novel- I'm 24, a guy, and I'm an engineering technician. I have high astigmatism and really bad farsightedness, and cannot pass the peripheral vision portion of the driving exam to save my life. I'm 5'7" and in shape but thin (I bike to work from my condo any day it isn't storming out and play in my company's soccer league, do light workouts and go hiking all the time). On top of other things, being unable to drive (and not being able to do anything about it) is super frustrating. It's usually a total dealbreaker for most women I talk to. my shortness is sometimes a problem too. Having a rough family life and constantly working full-time while commuting via bus or train to full-time engineering school just to pay my tuition and bills left me pretty much no time for relationships the past 5 years. I'm out now, at a job I like, in a great area and have a nice place and a short bike commute to work. I should add that in a virgin- a couple girls I wasn't attracted to have wanted to sleep with me but I know that I wouldn't be happy dating them (mostly personality traits or hygiene or weight issues), so I've declined. So no experience in the bedroom department either. Keeping in-shape and having a goal, and taking care of my appearance and health are important to me, so I'm not going to settle for less in a woman. I'm not complaining about my situation, I'm actually super lucky to be where I am in my career and personal life, and to still be alive in general. I just want a couple honest opinions here so I can make a choice. Should I stop pursuing a relationship casually and save myself grief and wasted time, money and effort? Or should I hold out for "her?"
