I know everyone is both. We don't have Neanderthals walking around anymore.
But if you are even 55% majority on one, which would you choose?

There are intellectual, cerebral, or very self-controlled types who have a harder time cutting loose, expressing themselves, feeling free or playful. They think about the consequences of actions more. Sometimes that is because bad things have happened when they do let go. And sometimes they are quite repressed, or repressing something that may not be as harmful as they imagine it could be.

And then there are people who quite often let their emotions or anger get the better of them, and wish they could be more self-contained, less impulsive, or more logical. They find clarity later, once the intense feelings have subsided, and then realize they eratic, on a temporary but powerful feeling.

This is the kind of thing I'm getting at.

I am definitely both. For sure. I think I feel less doubt or guilt than I used to. I'm trying to combine logic with passion, and for the most part, that is working better than it ever has in the past. But I still wish I had more fantasy, imagination, and abandon than I do. Those things can sometimes get one in trouble, but as I have said before, I do love a little debauchery and really just feeling what feels good. Those moments, or times, of drawing outside the lines, I really like them. I wish there were no repercussions, no risk. Sometimes I love that feeling of acting crazy, acting without thinking.

It seems to me that the line between self-control and recklessness can be... quite narrow.

I have noticed a pattern regarding social interactions throughout my life. I was an only child for most of my younger years, through middle school and up until now, I encounter animosity with other individuals. I was bullied as a kid and dealt with catty girls in high school. I am now in my mid twenties and have my first real job, I cannot say it has improved. I never really have drama with men, it’s always women. I do not see myself as a threat, I’m very quiet. When I tried to be friendlier in high school, people picked on me. I have come to a point where I just am completely solitary and still seem to have this issue, I am now being bullied in the workplace. People have made remarks about how quiet I am, I do not greet when I leave or enter the office. I should find a middle ground where I can be introverted & still friendly to some degree but I choose not to.

For the most part, there is always 1-2 women, that try to make my life difficult in some type of environment (work/school). I know I sound like a victim here but I cannot help but come to the conclusion that I am. I go from dealing with school girls to grown women with children. I’m damned if I do and dammed if I don’t. I do not think my experience has been normal, I do not want to come across as a pushover. I refuse to be a people pleaser, I prefer to put my foot down. This has been brought to the attention of management, they’re generally passive and tend to approach from a general standpoint (try to at least sustain the issue/ not make it too obvious). It usually results in the drama gets out of control and there’s tense confrontation.

Any insight? Doesn’t sound like I’m the issue?
