My previous boyfriend (now ex) expected great/elaborated meals, different soups, creative salads and other desserts. However, the fact that he was demanding and doing little in return (I was working too) to make me feel appreciated got me unmotivated quickly. I started switching back to simple dishes.

I've invited him a couple times to good places (sometimes also spoiled him with a good gift) and he didn't reciprocated. He used to focus on fancy things for himself only, always used discount tickets, wanted to go dutch even on my own b-day, never even gave his own mother a good gift for her b-day and wanted to stay at home on the weekends, doing nothing instead of going out and spending quality time... not move out of the bedroom.

If a boyfriend is acting like that and is a total cheapskate (while his girlfriend isn't) but expecting great desserts and meals to be served isn't that asking too much?

So my boyfriend was playing a video game and I asked him to use his insta because mine wasn’t working well (not to self he doesn’t use social media like that so he doesn’t have the insta app so he uses it on the internet) anyways he said no when I asked saying that he would have to log in etc so while he was playing the game I went on and I saw that he looked up his ex girlfriend I asked y and he said out of curiosity and tbh I don't know if this is normal to look up ur ex etc because I don’t so when I said that I freaked out because he said “I looked out of curiosity to see if she’s dead or alive I don’t hate the girl” tbh I just wanna know if I’m being over dramatic or I have a right to be mad. Also we met in October 2020 and he came from gorgia to NEW YORK we met at work and apparently her birthday is New Years, his sister is friends with her so back den he lied and said she was in the car with his sister when he called so out of respect he wished her happy birthday but 2 days ago I found out that he actually called her and wished her happy birthday because he said he promised before he left gorgia that he will call her on her birthday He also went along and said that she was his best friend. I just wanna know how I should feel cause it’s 2022 now and we still together. Am I being over dramatic or I just be mad.

We had been dating for 2 years and we live together. We haven’t discussed about what we were comfortable with and what not until now. We were talking about something and this came up.

This all happened before we met. He made out with a hot colleague. They never had sex and it was only because his ex was causing drama. He and his colleague decided to remain only friends. They don’t really work in the same department. They would hang out for lunch all the time. She now has a boyfriend and she knows he’s now with me. We are all working from home so they obviously don’t see. However, every now and then she would message him. In fact, he messaged her few days ago.

I am truly not comfortable with it. Had sex or not, they obviously find each other attractive. They made out and I am not comfortable with it. He doesn’t necessarily agree but he understands my perspective. It was never discussed but I am not comfortable with my partner keeping contact with exes/people you dated in the past. He respects me. He doesn’t care about keeping in contact with her, and he thinks the right to do is to cut her off. He won’t respond to her messages anymore. When they do go back to the office, he will reject her invitation to lunches or drinks after work.

I had no idea of her existence until today. I’m kind of not okay with how he never told me about her earlier. If let’s say they were meeting up alone, and I later found out he has been hanging out with a hot colleague who he made out with?… that would be a big problem. My boyfriend admitted he’s not good at communicating, and not someone who is an open book. You have to dig and ask. He just thought it should be fine. It also doesn’t make feel great.

I know its quite a toxic relationship

For example:
We argue... and one of us says:
"Im done"
"Im packing my stuff and leaving"
Then we break up and no contact

Then a week or 3 weeks max... we go back together
he's usually the one calling me first to talk

Last week we argued again and I told him im leaving and packing my stuff
At first he's like
"Why u doing this again? Dont waste mine and your time.. you should have left if you dont want to be together anymore"

Then i kept saying it

And he said
"Do whatever you want.. im done bye"

We haven't spoken ever since then
Its been 1 week
