I don't know if my boyfriend might be right now or not, but I want to be there for him if he does, as he's coming out of it.

Some signs:

1. He's been criticizing me lately for very small things, even the most harmless of comments.

2. We haven't been making love as much lately, even though I've been flirting with him and trying to turn him on.

3. When he comes over, he stays an hour tops, and he usually comes over to get money, pet the cats, and that's it.

4. He's been spending a lot of time doing things with this one roommate of his, and other times he gets short-tempered when I ask him what he's up to or what he did today. And he won't always tell me where he is when I say "where you at?" (I ask him casually; I intentionally don't interrogate him).

5. He's bought new clothes, gotten his hair cut, become more interested in cologne ...but he's rarely around. I'd like to think he's doing it for himself, but I wonder sometimes if he's trying to impress someone else.

6. A couple weeks ago, he randomly tried a really risque new sex position with me. He's never done that before. And a few months ago, he started carrying a condom around in his wallet. He's never done that before either. And I was already 4 months pregnant with our son (planned; he actually told me months before I conceived that he wanted to have a child with me; I happily agreed).

These are just my worries. I've been trying to remind myself that it's equally possible that he's stressed out, and that he probably ISN'T cheating on me. Fatherhood's a big responsibility, and he's planning on moving in soon (he also wants us to get married). I've told him that I respect his space, his independence, and I encourage him to hang out with his friends, especially when he makes noises that he's busy or wants his space - I tell him there's no pressure between us.

Sometimes I feel like these thoughts come into my head and they're hard to get out. He's cheated on past girlfriends. But he told me he will never cheat on me.

I'm trying to remind myself that he is not. But to put my crazy thoughts to rest, I'm accepting that if in the worst case scenario he IS cheating, then...

How can I be supportive of him? If he's cheating, then I want to be understanding of where he's coming from. I don't just want to be angry or self-righteous. Maybe he's really stressed. What can I do to coax him to share what he's going through? What can I say? Do guys want to be given space once they cheat, to figure out what they're feeling? Does it do them any good to be asked if they're in love with the other woman? How do you have a conversation with someone once they've confessed to you? What are the best things you can say? I want to be ready in case that ever happens.

Men who have cheated ...what would have been your best-case scenario once you were found out or once you told?What would have been the best conversation you could have had with your S.O.?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for a little over a year now. He is 26 years old and I am 22. I have been in some bad situations with other guys therefore I have major trust issues. My boyfriend usually carries his phone everywhere with him: bathroom, outside with the dog, in the other room, etc. This makes me nervous. I feel as though it makes him seem like he is hiding something from me when he does this. So last night curiosity got the best of me...

He fell asleep early and was snoring on the couch and his phone was blinking (meaning a text/email or something) I fiddled around with it and started checking things. He has the conversation type set up on his phone and it saves messages from months ago. So I could see way back to around August. I found 4 conversations that made me worry.

First conversation that I was a little bit weary about was a 20 text total conversation with his ex girlfriend of 6 years. He had text her first in regards to a facebook update about her changing jobs. They were talking about that and asking how each other has been and what not. Nothing too out of the ordinary. (She is almost engaged to this new guy so I don’t feel as worked up but still it bothered me)

Second conversation was with a girl that he works with and they were joking around about work related things. Like how their break room should have a pizza maker and what not? I don’t know seemed weird but harmless. (His work has a Christmas party coming up which he invited me to so therefore I feel as though this girl is nothing to worry about if he is bringing me as his date to his major Christmas party that she will be at as well)

Third conversation was with some Canadian girl that he met on vacation 2 years back. We live a long ways from Canada like hours upon hours therefore there is no physical contact ever. He sent a picture text of Canadian books and wrote “these are nonsense haha” on like October 17 and she sent him “Hey:)” last night at around 11p.m. Harmless I know, but back before him and I started dating they would flirt a lot and send naughty picture texts back and forth. So I’m worried a lot about this but then again if it’s just talk and they will never come into contact or meet up then there is nothing to worry about right?

The fourth and final girl is an older lady who is in her late 30s but she is attractive. He tends to joke/flirt with her on occasion. They used to work at the same company together so I think it’s just a friendly thing and nothing would ever come of it.

I refuse to confront my boyfriend about these because he will be extremely angry with me for looking through his phone. However, it is bothering me. I need some opinions from people. These 4 conversations are the only 4 girls he had ever talked to besides me since August and it’s now November. I just always tend to get hurt so I feel like I need to keep a close eye on things. Someone please tell me it’s normal for a guy to talk with
