This is part of my series of questions to help democrats become better socialists. I'm not a socialist, but the left has me thinking more about it and so I'm using my creativity to help them explore ideas.

One idea out there is to have a base minimum income for all to help ensure a base standard of living. It would go a ways towards addressing some afflictions of the poor. With coronavirus putting some out of work and robotics replacing humans, this may become necessary until other work can be found. We already have social income under different names on it. Ultimately, we all need to find meaningful work, it's important to human mental health and well being.

One way to fund this is to socialize some of the royalties from music and movie and invention rights. Any recurring revenue stream works because society is in effect paying society as we become more creative... instead of paying a few people or corporations.

Socialization could be volunteer by the artist or by confiscation by politicians.

An example would be Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono, or Mariah Carey... democrats! Why should these democrats be so rich when others are poor... that's not socially fair? Good democratic socialists could donate much of their creative art for the benefit of others in the social group. That's hundreds of millions that could pave the way for social payments to all... and these artists could live a more simple life rather than the ridiculous rich life.

I'm out of space. Some don't like socialism. Ok! Make this a volunteer basis within the democratic party. Those who are within democratic party would donate a portion of their royalties to the benefit of all democrats... that eliminates other parties so it isn't their problem to complain about! KISS
