TL;DR- My shorts were slightly above the knee, and the dress code required shorts to be below the knee... pisses me off to this day, grrrr...

Me, personally, this was a long time ago, but it still pisses me off.

Towards the end of middle school, when I was 14 in the 8th grade, apparently there was a "change" in the dress code that rarely anyone was notified about. Apparently, clothing couldn't be above the knee anymore. Even when sitting, it had to be below the knee.

And none of the kids really knew about that. Till an old lady administrator took me by surprise and told me my shorts were too short. At that, I literally giggled. But then she continued to give me a stern look, not looking away.

And I was like, "Are you serious? It's Florida, it's 90 degrees out there with 80% humidity, and you expect people to wear clothing that goes past the knee?" And she just said that those are the rules.

I complied to not get in trouble, but it left me infuriated and I held back tears.

Keep in mind, my shorts were THIS length.

How the hell anyone thinks those are too short is beyond me.

From then on, I only wore long pants to school. There was no way I was gonna buy super long shorts that went below the knee just to wear them to school. From then on I wore long pants at school only and my shorts outside of school only.
