Quick rant: I'm so tired of women who are emotionally destructive towards each other. I don't know whether it's become like this because society has stressed women to be competitive with each other or if it's because women are typically insecure with having relationships with each other. News flash! There are a lot of beautiful women in the world & that doesn't make you any less beautiful. We need to rejoice in each others strengths and stick together ultimately. So many times I have witnessed women disliking each other (with either no reason at all or some petty thing). It's shown greatly in interactions on a daily basis. And don't get me started on how women will be mean to other women because their significant other isn't respectful. That's on him! Not her! It bothers me when I hear other women say "I have more guy friends then girl friends because girls are too much drama"... ok firstly, I don't believe that the women who say this are slutty, I just feel that that as a society as a whole we need to develop better relationships with each other so this perception dissapears. I used to have difficult relationships with women and finally realized that it was a copout. That I needed to take time with more women so I can build these relationships... men WILL come and go & that's a fact. So I suggest we build each other up and support one another!

Ever since I was younger, the idea of sisterhood always caught my eye. I think that living with girls that have the same morals as me, working in the community and building relationships that may last a lifetime is totally what I want. I research about it and have decided that the sorority I want to join one day will be Zeta Tau Alpha and hopefully at Texas State (seek the noblest!). Considering this is the sorority that's caught my eye for 2 years now. I'm 3 years away from University but I still have questions.

Can Canadians join sororities? Do you think it will be harder?
I've been saving for school, I understand sorority costs are high but is there financial aid for sororities?
Will it be hard for me to join with no family past in greek life?
I know i have my heart set on Zeta Tau Alpha, but what are some other sororities that are known for their crafty, competitive, homegrown and fun mentality?

(Read all) Yes, it has gotten to the point where I'm asking strangers on the internet for life advice. Anyways, I'm having a super hard time making a decision, and it has been getting inside my head, so I wanted some insight. So:
In 6th grade and beginning of 7th (I'm a freshman now, which I know is very young), I fell into some really bad girl drama which turned into bullying, which started making me depressed (I know it sounds exagerrated that a 12yr old would be depressed), and I, being spineless, let them run me out of the school. By the first month of 7th grade, I had dropped out and moved to online school. Back then, I had started riding horses, and when I started doing online school, my trainer offered me an internship of sorts. So for 2 years, I have been doing online school, and have gotten super competitive for horse-back riding. I ride at least 6 horses a day, which is equivalent for an athlete to practice for at least 6 hours everyday, and have gotten amazing opportunities. My trainer thinks I could be really big in this sport. This helped me find out how to be myself, and am a totally different person. Now the hard part. Right before freshman year, I decided I wanted to try public school again. So, I told everyone that is what I was doing, but then I, being spineless, started regretting the decision and backed out, because I wanted to keep riding 6 horses a day and try to get an opportunity to show at some of the bigger shows. Since then, I keep wondering what it would be like to be a normal kid. Then I found out about this early college program my trainer's kid did, where you can basically graduate with an associate's degree and after a semester of high school classes, you are basically in college and get to schedule things for yourself. But for the first semester it is 9-3, and lots of homework. So I would only practice for an hour, maybe 2, and it is really important to me to keep getting better. But is it worth it for flexible scheduling later?
