Search Results: losing a chance with a guy

So I met this guy online almost two years ago, and we really hit it off. He was super sweet at first and was patient enough to put up with me (I have a lot of issues and have the tendency to push people away so they can't hurt me). He was really the first person I've ever trusted in my life and I was in love. About six months into it he told me that he'd never felt anything beyond "friend love" for me. It truly broke my heart, but after nearly a month of him fighting to stay friends, I decided it was better to have someone I could talk to then have no one (not even family). I went to see him (1000 miles away) and was even planning on transferring to his college (which was a great opportunity for me anyway, he was just a perk) and we had a great time and for the first time I felt comfortable with someone else. Anyway, about two weeks ago I decided that since he couldn't stop saying "I love you", and that basically nothing had changed no matter how much it hurt me, that it was best for us to go our separate ways.

But now I'm feeling like it was a huge mistake because he was really trying to change before I blocked him. Now I'm completely alone and it seems like the past two weeks have just been a steep spiral (including suicide attempts) due to my life falling apart (turned down from 10 jobs, losing financial aid for college, fighting with my family, gained weight, etc). I have no one to turn to and I'm really having trouble not contacting him. What do all you people out there think? Should I contact him? Should I give him another chance to change, or should I just move on and accept that no one in my life cares?
