When I get a crush on a guy, it doesn't necessarily mean I want to date him. That was the case in high school. I noticed if a guy is nice to me, has a funny sense of humor, is cute, and I feel comfortable talking to him, I start thinking I have a crush. I tend to idolize them and i think they can tell.

Let's take this guy for example: This guy sat next to me in one college course. He was the first cute guy to walk in the classroom and he sat right next to me. I was super happy. We started talking and i thought he was so cool. I would look at him--I dont know if he notice-then i would look at my lap and fiddle with my hands. I laughed at most things he said.
If a girl did all this what would you think?

I read that some girls flirt by laughing at a joke while gently pushing their crushes upper arm. I never touch my crushes. Can guys tell if a girl is flirting if there is no physical contact. Either it is obvious and they don't like me back as more than a friend or just a person. Or I think they can tell I like them, but I am wrong.

There is a huge lack of men in my life. I love my dad, and we have a good relationship, but there isn't much emotional support and he lives in another state. I have an older brother, who is 4 years older. We never got along growing up. And now he is at University out of state and rarely calls me. The strange thing is, even though we are not close at all, I admire him and think he is the coolest guy I have ever known. I wonder if that has anything to do with why I get crushes so easily on guys who have qualities similar to my brother, but are actually nice to me and enjoy talking to me.

Hey, if my question didn't make since I'll try to clarify a bit. As much as I myself am not a firm believer in the place formally known as the friend zone. I know people who do believe in it an as a result, experienced the pain of rejection because of it. Though, as I've learned some of those who've gone through it have become a bit bitter because of it. These people who I'm referring to are likely to take their anger out in passive aggressive ways.

For example one might say, "It's always the nice guys who get overlooked for the jerk who'll never love her. Oh well, she'll feel the same pain soon when he dumps her for another hot girl." There are many reasons why this statement is uncalled for, but I'll let you figure out why on your own. The point is, the individuals who make these comments or have these complaints are usually men. Now I'm not saying all men, so please don't beat me up to badly. Yet, they seem to be the most upset about the friend zone. Some will even band together in order to make themselves feel better by making funny quotes, memes, or just talking trash about the person they once liked.

Though, nothing makes bitter friend zoned guys stand together more than a female who claims to have experienced the friend zone. In the forum world of the friend zone any girl who utters the words, "I was put into the friend zone." Will suffer at the hands of an already toxic community. Now I wouldn't say it if I hadn't seen it happen in many forums myself. These girls get ripped to shreds if they claim the friend zone. They'll be cussed out, demonized, and their pain will be turned into an absolute joke. Because in the minds of these self proclaimed nice guys, females cannot be friend zoned even though anyone can be rejected. Let's be honest a guy labeling a girl as bro or dude is the same as a girl calling a guy her brother or good friend.

P. S. I think the friend zone is absolutely pointless.

I am kind of confused at the moment. At first, I thought guys did prefer the girl who lets them be, especially when theyre not doing anything wrong so i, e, lets them play videogames, lets them watch the movies they like, lets them dress how they like, basically accepts them for who they are.

However, I sometimes hear guys say "I found the girl who makes me a better man" and also just hear in general that that is what guys appreciate in the end and find that as a long-term thing.

If making you a better man is what you prefer, give me some ideas on what you mean by that?

I've had an experience where I tried to change my ex into more of "my type" so clearly I wasn't into him and broke up w him cause i didn't want to hurt him anymore. Now w my current bf, he makes me want to be better, and I can't see anything Id change about him. he's my type, he's everything to me but I would like teach him how to be more open w conversating and not always joke through his way in life. I like that he is funny and take things lightly but there are times to be serious.
