So to me, gender/sex, race, ethnicity, physical disabilities, etc... none of that has ever mattered to me. As long as you were human, I'd consider you my equal, and worthy of being my friend.

But looking around work and at my school, and in the public in general, segregation is still quite common. Most people who hang out together seem to be of the same sex and the same race. Like over here you have a group of all Black dudes hanging out, and over there is a group of only White women, and over there is a group of Indian women, and over there is a group of slightly tanned Hispanic dudes...

To me, personally, that has never mattered. If anything, I went out of my way to talk to a large variety of people, so I can learn more and am not just limited to one world view or mindset. Plus, I wanna have a large variety of people as my friends-not people who all think, look, and act all basically nearly the same.

I don't have any super close friends in general, as I prefer to keep to myself and don't like opening up to people... in that case I have absolutely 0 friends except for my mom and dad... but I have several casual friends of each and every race/ethnicity/nationality. And it's great, really. I get to learn so much more.

But most people around me seem to only stick to people who are most like themselves, so... while the majority of people are not racist like they were back then, race still seems to play a role in society, liking it or not.

I want to know.

Who works hard to conform to their gender roles, and who doesn’t?

If you make a conscious effort to conform to a gender, what is your reason for doing that? Why do you do it? Are you doing it to attract a sexual partner? Are you doing it to gain entry into a social group?

If you don’t make any conscious effort to conform to any gender, are you simply naturally masculine or feminine? Do you effortlessly match the description? Are you naturally neither masculine nor feminine? If you do not try to conform to any gender, why do you do this? Do you find gender roles oppressive, are they not accurately who you are as a person deep down? What’s your reason.

For now I want the female perspective. Later I’ll make a poll for the male perspective.

A lot of women have completely abandoned their gender roles with the rise of third-wave feminism, yet still expect men to fulfill theirs. It’s something I’ve noticed in a relationships. Ask a woman to keep up the house and do the laundry and she flips her shit. Ask a man to change the oil in her car and it’s expected. It’s just little things like this that do add up. Anyone else agree?

Let me start by saying I love my mom very muchAs a kid she bought me girly toys that I never ever played with. She always wanted a baby girl to dress her up bake cookies etc... I'm the baby of four brothers two of whom are out of the house and me and my middle aged bro are the only ones left at the house... he got to live life as a guy but I'm not allowed to because my mom wanted me to be born a girl... at the age of eight I sold most of my girly toys because that wasn't me and I hate when people force things onto me like I'm some sort of a sick doggy I adore my mom and love her with all my heart But I wish that she could stop imposing this girly stuff on me that I'm not interested in.
My mom is my world and I love her very much.
She has great qualities that I love a lot. But I also have a life of my own. I am not allowed to like or do things that other guys my age and younger can do because my mom hates gender roles and wanted me to be born a baby girl... she can't accept that I'm a guy and love guy stuff would you also do this if he was a gender disappointment? what I love about my mom is that she at least allow me to wear boys clothing. which I love because I'm a clothing freak and love boys fashion wear.

Guys i am genderfluid male attracted mostly to tomboyish females its like a gender role reversal thing hope u got that cause i hate explaining it so much anyways there is that gorgeous girl who seems to be in love with me since beginning of high school she used to flirt with me even saying good stuff about me she tried back then to talk to me twice but i just ignored her completely cause i had that feeling we r not compatible cause i like philosophy and science and she barely knows anything about she seems smart socially but not that much with thinkin and imagination not geeky what i meant to say she is just perfect as lover but not someone that i can share all my life with like we can have awesome sex and romance but i don't think we can think the sane way or together also and i am not sure i can trust her lots of people say she is a player last days she was like doing anything to be with me but i feel like this relationship is not gonna work although i know its rare to find a female who loves me like her or be like that with like her but i have a strong feelin we won't work cause i don't think i can live with any females but tomboyish geeky ones she act tomboyish the way i love but she is not geeky at all and the fact that i can't really know if she is doing all of this just to get me and satisfy her eggo is confusing me so much
Would u guys try such a relationship if u know with high percentage it won't work or just wait for ur perfect fit even when u know geeky tomboyish females are so rare
I can't really stand a hurt feelings or leaving someone who got. A place in my life it is just frustrating for me do u think that kind of relationship would work?
