Search Results: nice guys finish last

So sometimes I feel like some guys think you have to be shy to be nice. That doing nice things should mean the girl approaches and asks him out. But there are nice guys who have the balls to approach and they don't finish last.

What do you think?

Why hasn't he texted me? Is he blowing me off? Went to meet a guy 2 days ago next state up. We had a great time. We were alone twice, and the sexual tension was sky high but he didn't do anything... not even kiss. He always playfully nudged me. He bought my food twice and then he cooked for me the last night I was there. He kept making future plans that he was going to come to my city and wanted me to show him different things. I kept asking him if he's sure? He said he is a man of his word. He just has to finish his business start up first. He does follow his word 90% of the time. After I left, he texted me he had a good time and hopefully he will come out to me soon because he really wants to get to know me and really likes me. I replied I had a great time too and if he does come let me know, or if he wants me to come out again i'll be happy to do that as well. Next day, he texted me hoping I got home safe. I said yes and asked him if he got my other text. He said he just got it, his phone was acting weird. Then he said let me get back to your text after im not busy working. I said okay. He texted me that night that he was exhausted and he will get back to me tomorrow again. I said ok. He responded mid day again saying he finally got a break and it's going to be crazy working the next two days before he drives to the mojave desert Thursday morning. He said he's glad I got sleep and hope im having a good day and he can't wait to come up there soon. I replied for him to make sure he eats and sleep. I put an inside joke of ours in and then i said i'll believe you will be out here when I see it. I told him i'll talk to him after his trip or for him to text me after he comes back. He hasn't texted me since then. It's been 2 days now. Was "see you soon" a nice way of saying nice meeting you but im not interested? I'm hoping im just blowing it out of proportion but he's the one putting in all the effort. I'm just laying back to see what happens. Why make promises if you're not interested?

I met my ex tonight. I've not saw him for a while, last time I saw him, we argued.

Tonight I was in the local supermarket shopping. He works as a manager there. I saw him stacking some shelves from the corner of my eye and walked to the aisle I needed.

Now, I thought perhaps he'd want to avoid me after last time we spoke. But he stood by the exit of the shop and began sorting things there just as I was checking out.

As usual, he asked how I was and what I'd been up to. So I told him. Part of it involved taking the football team that I coach away to a tournament (a kids team) and I'd jokingly said about this creepy manager who had approached the kids and ask where we were from.

Low and behold, I got a Facebook request from this guy shortly after I got home that night. I hadn't even looked his way and am actually pretty scared regarding how he found out my name.

Anyway, I was laughing about it. And my ex turned from what he was doing to face me and said 'maybe he was a nice guy, you could have gave him a chance'

I just thought: 'what?' Anyway. I replied just saying I wasn't interested in any men and that I didn't need a guy to be happy (which is true).

Just at that, he got up and said he has to go and finish his work inside the shop. He'd only just began stocking the exit part of the shop :S and usually we talk for a little longer. Perhaps he genuinely had other work to do, but I just found it odd how it seems he went out his way to talk to me anyway.

For the record, he sounded kinda down in the dumps/not very upbeat to begin with... so yeah...
