I’ve been dating my girlfriend Lucy for a year. Lucy has a lot of good values. She’s smart with her money and has no debt. We’re thinking about getting married in the new year. I’m 33 and she’s 43, so there’s no time waste. But 90% of her friends are male, so only has 3 female friends. Which is kind of strange to me. She’s not a tomboy, these dudes aren’t gay, so why would she be so close to other men? She has a guy friend Alex that she texts a lot. Every time Alex has a girlfriend she doesn’t like his relationship with Lucy. Also, Alex doesn’t text Lucy as often when he’s dating, and Lucy gets pissed that he’s neglected. I wrote about this in another question.

We’ve had arguments about her male friends and she told me that I’m “too jealous”, and that she’ll stop hanging around men for our relationship. She showed me her texts to prove there’s nothing going on with the guys, but I’m still uncomfortable.

On the flip side she hates that my best friend is a 69 year old woman whom I FaceTime once awhile. So how can I accept her guy friends and she doesn’t like me being friends with an elderly woman? She also got mad at me for going a girls apartment with a crowd.

I've declared here that I am no longer mad about my stepdad and his views, but I really want to ask a question here. Is little Nas X's "Montero" album name satanic? My brother, who is 10, says that it's satanic. We were eating, having Chick-fil-A at the dinner table (I'm not surprised, the restaurant attracts many homophobes; although my relatives aren't), and we started talking about little Nas X and his gayness.

My stepdad wasn't, and isn't, homophobic at all. He teaches my brother simple things such as, "Treat them like humans," "Don't think less of them," and "When you get older, you will see more bad [than good]." But he often says things that are out of line with today's political and social correctness. And he's pro-claimed, "very righteous." It's not even bad compared to what I hear Joe Rogan, Bill Maher and Dave Chappelle say, and those are obviously some centrist libertarians themselves.

Despite voting for Trump and mostly Republicans, my stepdad really had the audacity to release the 'inner Democrat' from himself. He's still an ardent "all lives matter" type of person, but isn't a fan of late-stage capitalism (the Bezos/Musk type) and holds rioters equally as accountable as the bad cops.

Back to the subject: I asked my brother, "Did you know [that] there was an SUV named the [Mitsubishi] Montero?" The brother said, "No, Montello [how he pronounced it]." My mom and my stepdad withheld any more discussions about gay people and "satanic people." My stepdad said he will raise his son [my brother] to be an "outstanding...[something]... gentleman." After my brother explained to my mom that his own name means "Resurrection," my mom told him that "yes, [he] has a very good name."

Or is that looked down on too? so if someone tell me they hate gays i can't think that person is a piece of shit?

This is pretty much the definition of judging a person based on the "content of their character" as this one famous dude said once...

My stepdad is so cruel to his son's environment that even some of his conservative peers can't stand him. My halfbrother is neither gay nor bisexual, but his father tends to act highly offended whenever the word "gay," "bisexual," or "queer" is audible in the video in a non-derogatory way. My brother is allowed to watch videos on YouTube and TikTok, but he gets reprimanded if he doesn't change the channel if he accidentally watches a video that contains those words or any swear words.

This is so freaking odd because my stepdad at least tolerates my mom's gay black friend. He was even on our HBO accounts list. If so, why does my stepdad continue to be homophobic? Even my mom said DaBaby was "homophobic" while at the dinner table, and my stepdad said that DaBaby was ignorant about how gay people go through. But ever since a while later on vacation when he heard "bisexual" on a TikTok, my stepdad told my brother to change the video.

My stepdad is racist too (but he denied it every time I called him out; I no longer call him out because I don't want to get disowned or anything), loves to make fun of poor black and brown people's struggles and uses the N-word with a hard er, which is why my brother says it a lot. They both call black people monkeys and thugs and gang members, and they also really freaking hate Asians more than anyone. Asians (especially the Chinese) are their worst enemy, 10,000x worse than Blacks. My Armenian stepdad at least tolerates Black people and their opinions, but he doesn't like to get close to a Chinese person.

My stepdad grew up in a really rich household to be honest, but he got sued and bankrupt from his first business when he was discriminating against people of color. His personality is identical to, or worse than, that of Donald Trump's. His countless number of lawsuits have made him and his family broke. He let his own dad die in 2001 without even fundraisers. And he pretends he never disrespected his family. Kiss my ass.
