Why the church does not always save people

Why the church does not always save people

The gospel of Jesus clearly shows that God was often different from mainstream religious culture and that those who gave in too often to their religious culture ended up rejecting God and I know of examples in my own life of this where people will criticize me and slander me for saying Trump is racist because their Christian culture tells them that Trump is Christian.

I also know churches where they ignore low status Christians because their Christian culture tells them that respect is something you earn while Jesus clearly taught respect is for all who acknowledge God regardless of their spiritual status or explicitly publicized good deeds and I know Christians who gossip about, judge and exclude people because their Christian culture tells them dominant Christians are supposed to correct weak believers while Jesus clearly taught us not to judge others.

I don’t support the political causes Christian culture does. Neither do I support the religious causes Christian culture does: For example, I show Muslims respect and friendship and do not care if it is not returned. I tell gay people that God loves them and they can follow God if they want to but I do not force anybody to practice my faith.
