So I have a friend that I met in high school who is now states away and also very toxic. She never listens to me anymore, she always makes everything about herself, she literally takes everything I say the wrong way, and especially she's not the same person I met years ago. She even gets mad at me for no reason because I haven't been calling or texting her. Well it's not my fault I've been very busy with work and everything. Whenever she texts me, she never ever checks up on me and see how I'm doing, she only cares if I call her because all she wants from me is attention which is a reason I haven't spoken to her and the fact that we never have anything to talk about anything anymore because its always about her and her needs. She tries to make me feel guilty for not talking to her but in reality she's been giving me anxiety. she's been also accusing me for being a bad friend because I haven't "talked" to her. It's not my fault I have a life! She doesn't even see that we're drifting and what kind of person she's become. For the past couple years now, I've been dealing with a friend who's become more stubborn, selfish, paranoid, and very needy. I've tried to tell how I feel about the whole situation but she didn't listen. I've been thinking for a long time about cutting her out of my life, blocking her on every social media and never speaking to her again. I tried being a good friend to her but I can't take her BS anymore! What should I do? Should I block her for good and move on? Or should I suck it up and deal with the drama?

False accusers don't receive a notable amount of sympathy from society for reasons like:
o the waste of resources from investigating the accusations
o the unshakable stigma placed on innocent persons
o the distrust that results and extends to genuine victims

We generalize false accusers as remorseless, vindictive female liars with no concern for the gravity of her actions and the lives of innocent men she may ruin.

However, some make the accusations for sympathetic reasons. E. g in fear for their lives. Clearly, it does not excuse it but I don't believe they deserve the same contempt that society expresses for the stereotypical remorseless, vindictive liar

The most likely motive for this 15 year old girl cutting off her own hair, covering herself in dog feces and getting inside a garbage bag to stage a purposeful false rape accusation against multiple men was to avoid being beaten by her mother and stepfather. Witnesses testified they saw her mother beat her for running away. Her stepfather attempted to beat her at a police station when she was caught for shoplifting. He was also witnessed talking about Tawana in a sexualizing manner. Her stepfather had a horrific history of violence which included him stabbing his first wife 14 times before fatally shooting her.

She had been missing from home for 4 days and those heavy factors suggest she could not come home without getting beaten, from a man who has killed before, without a really good excuse for not being able to come home on time; she went with the excuse of being gang raped.

Of course there are options that don't throw innocent men under the bus, like speaking out about the domestic abuse, however, many victims fear retaliation for speaking out.
