Well this guy and I have been talking and opening up to each other. Talking about our past childhood, relationships, etc. he keeps saying it's better if he explains in person on some topics we talked about. So I asked him well you keep saying that, when will we make it happen? We live in different states. I told him I have to wait until I can come with a friend and their schedule, because I'm scared to drive alone. He's told me he doesn't want to rush it and doesn't know much about me but he thinks I should drive alone, it would be better. He also suggested that he will meet me halfway and drive with me 2 hours the remaining time to his state. Then he's like he is coming down to my state this month in March. I asked him why? he says he has friends that always wanted him to come and now he has a reason since he can hangout with me. But if he's not driving with anyone he will still come down and do something. Then yesterday he kept asking me about a past guy I was with. At first I told him I dated. Then I told him I had one long term. I wasn't going to tel him about that one at first but eventually did. He asked me how old the guy was and ethnicity and if I still talked to him. He joked saying so someone did catch your interest. I checked his okcupid profile because I think I'm getting played to the max. He hasn't been online since feb. 26th. Then he wanted me to FaceTime him while he worked on some stuff at home. He has a home and he renovated it. I wanted to see his final design. He told me when I come out I will see it. But then he posted on Instagram so now I've seen it so what's the point? So I'm just trying to be smart about this. I don't want to be played. I was googling and they say a player will try to be very sympathetic with you. Of course I have a crush and I'm just being friendly and not to many feelings. But it's getting there. Are these good signs or am I getting played?

Within the last year, I have been chatting with a guy , I dated as a teen. We have been speaking online, Skype, and via telephone, to the point that I have fallen in love with him. However, every time we get close he stops talking with me, for a month (s) and I always have to reached out to him, first (example: the other night he finally said he has intense feelings for me, which is unusual for him because he doesn't express himself and I haven't heard for him , after this revelation, although I have called and texted him). He knows I love him dearly and if I had to choose, I want my life with him. He knows I do not expect him to say he loves me too, just because that is how I feel (no pressures from me, I am an intense person, at times.) Prior , he expressed that he always wanted to be with me, and how if we progressed he wants a life with me. I go in between three different scenarios, as of why we cannot progress they are: 1) he is afraid because he had a very bad relationship, with someone he loved years ago (men tend to carry their baggage a very long time) 2) he is playing games with me because he is upset, still, I did not like him a lot when we dated as teens and now that I am interested, he is having a field day with me (I know immature , but people are out for revenge sometimes) 3) He is seeing someone else, but afraid to tell me because he still wants me around and knows I will not continue to talk to him , if that is the case (no he isn't the player type, but sometimes someone doesn't exhibit those qualities to you and really are like that... you only really know what you do and what someone else tells you). My question is why does he keep pulling away, every time when make progress? ps: we are doing a long distance 'thing' because he just came back from overseas (fighting for our country) and we are in different states, so no physical interaction has taken place.

Guys, do you prefer to initiate contact when you first start dating a girl? Does that make you value her more? I've gone on two amazing dates with a guy I met from OKCupid and have fallen pretty hard. We have great chemistry, are very similar actually, and laugh a lot. But I'm brand new to online dating, hardly know him or how he feels, and am scared he could be player-ish. I think making/waiting for him reach out to me makes me seem more attractive in his mind.
