I have this really big crush (for three years) on this guy in my class at school. No one knows that I have a crush on him though. We talk a lot a geometry and I try to make a lot of eye contact. He's really kind to me, but he talks to other girls too. I heard that one of my friends asked him out and he turned her down, so I was really glad. I've never had a boyfriend before, so this is all new to me. But one day, while we were playing truth or dare, someone dared one of my friends (a girl) to hit on me (I'm 100% straight but not homophobic) just for the laugh of it. He looked worriedly at me while this was happening. Nothing really happened when she was "hitting" on me. She just complimented my hair (lol). But I'm worried that the guys somehow think I'm a lesbian? I overheard my crush talking to his friends in gym class and he said something like' "but she's a lesbian!" I don't know if he was talking about me, which I am straight, or if the conversation was even about him, but I'm just worried he thinks he can't like me because he thinks I'm not straight. I really would like to have a relationship with him, but it's nearing the end of the school year now, and it would be hard to meet in the summer, too. I want to ask him if he thinks I'm not straight, but I don't have the confidence. Do you think he likes me? Or do you think something else? Also, do you have any advice?

Or would you say men or women get hurt more? Assuming this exact situations were to happen:

Rejected by your crush or after a couple dates
- Guy gets rejected by the girl he liked for the longest... she doesn't feel the same
- Girl gets rejected and he likes someone else and she isn't his type...

Rejected by dealing with a sudden break-up (they say they aren't in love anyone and want to date others)
- Guy is dumped suddenly and she starts dating others within a short time
- Girl is dumped suddenly and he dates someone else shortly

Getting rejected for a life commitment such as marriage
- A girlfriend was waiting for a while and he doesn't feel the same way, isn't ready, etc.
- Kind of similar except it's the girlfriend that isn't at that stage or his proposal was rejected

When I get a crush on a guy, it doesn't necessarily mean I want to date him. That was the case in high school. I noticed if a guy is nice to me, has a funny sense of humor, is cute, and I feel comfortable talking to him, I start thinking I have a crush. I tend to idolize them and i think they can tell.

Let's take this guy for example: This guy sat next to me in one college course. He was the first cute guy to walk in the classroom and he sat right next to me. I was super happy. We started talking and i thought he was so cool. I would look at him--I dont know if he notice-then i would look at my lap and fiddle with my hands. I laughed at most things he said.
If a girl did all this what would you think?

I read that some girls flirt by laughing at a joke while gently pushing their crushes upper arm. I never touch my crushes. Can guys tell if a girl is flirting if there is no physical contact. Either it is obvious and they don't like me back as more than a friend or just a person. Or I think they can tell I like them, but I am wrong.

There is a huge lack of men in my life. I love my dad, and we have a good relationship, but there isn't much emotional support and he lives in another state. I have an older brother, who is 4 years older. We never got along growing up. And now he is at University out of state and rarely calls me. The strange thing is, even though we are not close at all, I admire him and think he is the coolest guy I have ever known. I wonder if that has anything to do with why I get crushes so easily on guys who have qualities similar to my brother, but are actually nice to me and enjoy talking to me.

I was good friends with this person back in high school about 4 years ago. We did end up having crushes on each other but for whatever reason, it just never worked out and due to growing up and what not, we grew apart and haven't really spoken for like 2 years.

We ran into each other recently and began to be friendly again. He's been saying stuff about how important I always was to him and that he's changed and all this other stuff, which I thought was weird because he gave up on our "relationship" (whatever you want to call it) really quickly so I wasn't expecting that at all. He then went on to say, "I think I've been with enough girls to know that when I still think of you it means something." I assume he meant that as a compliment but I didn't take it that way. Like, you dated all these other girls, apparently, and now you think about telling me? And furthermore, if that's true, he's thinking about some other girl while in a relationship with someone else?

What do you guys think?
